Only had two enquiries for my 57k mile 335d Touring and no viewings. It's meant to be a pretty desirable car. Maybe priced too high but I've gone for p/x and wasted £32 on an ad. Dammit!!

Have I read correctly that you've PX'd it already? If not, please do feel free to PM me an ad. I saw you mentioned it yesterday and meant to ask then.

To the OP, nothing new to say other than I daresay my car, parked outside, 2000+ miles since it's last wash/vac would give yours a run for its money if I snapped a pic or two.

20 minutes and your nearest Somalian handwash joint, then 30 minutes at home with a microfibre towel, a damp sponge (if you don't have proper cleaning products) and a vac to catch the dust and grime, then using a camera, not a phone (especially in iPhone aspect) to take some decent pictures. You'll almost undoubtedly get a better response.

For gods sake clear it out, it looks minging, crap in the boot and grubby carpets.
This..

Photos are crap and the car is dirty in and out, doesn't inspire confidence.

Get it on Gumtree too, I sold my Toyota Corolla on there no bother.
This.

Take it somewhere bright too and if you have any sunny pictures it will help much more at this time of year. But yeah car sales are much slower in winter as no-one wants to view in the cold and dark.
Well you say that but.... I sold my verso to an *Asian chap in the pitch dark, he came round with 2 mates, kicked the tyres a bit then off he popped.

  • only relevant as for whatever reason the only interest I had in the car was from the Asian community...I even had one guy ring, who was Asian, asking me if I sold it to an Asian...go figure, they like Japanese cars for some reason!

Prepare the car so it looks nice in the pics, take the pics in good light and keep the car tidy while its up for sale.

These were taken on my phone when I sold my Puma (for £450 frown ) and to get it from filthy, crap filled shed to shiny thing took an hour and cost me £10.

Cheers - it's officially been px/d now - it means I can run the car until the new one is built and the price was just about acceptable in the end.

You just never know with selling cars, I put my 944 up at 5 grand, then dropped it £100 every few days until I got a bite, I had cleaned it, done as many jobs as I could, was ready with my pitch, the nice chap who bought it drove it, loved it and asked me how I wanted paying without any haggling "This bloke wont haggle !".

So, sometimes you can put a lot of effort in and it isnt really required but other times you have to work pretty hard, knock the price down and generally have a load of agro, depends on the buyer but I always tend to assume the buyer is going to be as fussy as me and negotiate with maximum prejudice.

All I'd like to know is how this thread is still going when my attempt to offer on my MG ZT before I px'ed was immediately removed by the mods as it was deemed I was advertising.

I didn't even have it for sale with an attached autotrader advert! smile

Anyways, if we're going down that route, I've a good MG ZT, with 163K miles going for £600 if anyone wants it before it gets px'd against a Boxster (assuming the garage ever get the airbag light sorted)! laugh
Thank you this thread, passed on to the first person that spotted this. Saves a good car going to a dealer. thumbup
