Yep, you were wrong.

You accelerated into the back of him, where was he supposed to vanish to?
The left lane where he was heading? or at least through to the other side of a green light?

I don't agree, the little car came off the gas then braked resulting in the OP "accelerating" rather than the OP simply accelerating.

You were in the right up to the time you decided to "teach him something".

Next time just let it go. Hard I know. But one day the result of that attitude may be that you won't be coming on here to show us your dash cam vids, at least not for a few days. Hopefully.

That's what I always think in such situations, I imagine being at home without incident later that day, or who knows where else otherwise.

Not worth it.

There is something faintly disturbing about the mindset that thinks that a dashcam is a good idea...

You drive like an angry teenager, accelerating towards a possible gap before it had even appeared. From a 20 second video you've shown that your awareness is lousy and your forward planning is crap, I don't think that you have the right to beep other muppets when they do wrong.

Where were you on a mission to?

I didn't try to teach him anything? I wasn't intentionally "on-his-arse" - that's merely what happened after he decided to slap the brakes for no reason?

The video wasn't "attitude" either, just general interest of what I did wrong - to which I guess the answer would be 'making the assumption he was staying in the left hand lane'

Both drivers in the wrong.

Micra was out of stupidity.

Op as a result of being too aggressive.

I don't see what the fuss is about..... ALL Micra drivers do this.

In fact a high portion of people who have a car of similar ilk usually have no interest in cars/driving and ultimately don't pay much attention which inevitably leads to sequences like those posted by the OP smile

You had plenty of time to slow down and leave a safe gap but instead you deliberately decided to make a point of driving right up the Micra's backside.

If you say you didn't then you need to take a good long hard look at your driving and attitude towards other road users.

Bit of a personal peeve of mine, this. Somebody pulls out in front of you then dithers about causing you to lift off or brake, usually when the road is clear behind you. rolleyes

Anyway OP, you should have backed off when they started slowing down. Pointless getting into aggro over such a minor incident.

My god. Things like this happen to me every day. Don't react, and don't beep. You won't change peoples behaviours, you'll just enflame the situation.

I agree the OP didn't do much wrong the brake testing was foolish and deserved a toot, there was plenty of time for the micra to be on their way.

What was wrong with the beep? It wasn't like a long hand on the horn aggressive beep? Just a quick blast to say "Oi, what are you doinggggggg?"

People keep saying brake testing? I'm not sure an OAP knows what that is, nor would they do it? (I'd put the driver in his 60's- if that qualifies him as OAP or not, its close enough) I think he just had no clue the lights were on green and braked while he had a look....

The horn is to warn other people that you're there in a position where they might be about to hit you, not to complain at people who have already almost hit you. hehe

I never beep. Ever. To me it is a sign of aggression, and never justified. If someone cuts in front of me in a supermarket aisle with their trolley, I don't react or rebuke them, I just accept that their behaviours are different to mine, or perhaps they didn't see me or care for me. It's the same with driving.

hehe Very true!

A "friend" of mine had passed her driving test, and offered me a lift home..in her Micra. It was only a mile and half away.. But in that short space of time, she never got higher than 3rd gear, saying she didn't like to go higher. Poor car, and poor queue of people behind us. But that's not that bad compared to other incidents.
