I travel between Manc and Leeds once every couple of weeks and I'm a fan of the new managed motorway. What used to be a car park from Halifax to the M621 is now fairly free flowing traffic. There's always a few muppets but it's the same on any stretch.

Shame they opened it up and immediately closed down the stretch from Brighouse to Halifax for central reservation work though.

Isnt it an average of the readings taken at each camera?
wink
Not according to the BBC.

BBC News said:
One camera - the entry camera - films your number plate as you enter a controlled zone and starts a timer. When you leave the zone, the exit camera films both your car and its number plate.

If there's a match with the entry camera, your speed is calculated, and if over the speed limit the evidence is passed on to the police.

"Each section" of the averaged stretch. You can't get away with it by driving 75 mph through the first 3 cameras and then slowing to 25 mph through the last 3 cameras for an overall average of 50.
If that is the case then what is the point of all the cameras in between the first and last camera? (assuming there are no exit or entry slip roads or junctions, as is often the case).
I don't think you've grasped the concept....

Oh yeah, it is absolutely far better than it was now. The majority of people are using it very well.

I do what you do. CC set 5mph over the controlled limit and away we go.
