OP, just had a look on Ebay and there are a few wioth the spec or most of the spec you want.

Do you want a saloon, coupe or estate?

Sorry if I missed that bit.

You may have to compromise on mileage but I think thats the bit where the condition of the car should determine whether you buy it rather than a set number on the odometer.

Have your retinas REALLY BEEN BURNT? I mean really? Has a car with good headlights really had the same power as a fking laser shon Into your fking stupid complaining moaning piggy eyes and BURNT YOUR RETINAS ?

No I didn't think so, bet you have a epileptic fit every time you see someone with their fog lights on too.

Sick of these idiots
Actually no, my retinas have not been physically burnt.

However, there have been several occasions where the light has been that intense, that it has induced pain at the back of my eyes. Almost like an instant intense headache.

So maybe *you're* not affected by them, but I am.

I have been driving for nearly 30 years, and prior to the introduction of Xenon lights, never had a problem with being dazzled by oncoming (or even following) vehicles.

As for fog lamps, well no - I don't get an epileptic fit about them at all, but I don't see the point of people using them when driving around town for example.

As a matter of interest, xenon tubes were originally designed for flash photography. Do you really think it's necessary to have lighting that bright?

Oh, and fking stupid complaining moaning piggy eyes - a fine demonstration of your intelligence there.

2006 and a nice blue , all the spec you wanted and 54k miles from a dealer with warranty for under £12k http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/b...

Or a black one and spend the change on getting it wrapped in another colour

Maybe your eyes are becoming more sensitive as you get, you know, older. One foot in the grave? wink

Lol no, I may have one foot in the grave (not!) but normal halogen headlights (although brighter than silly sealed beams of 30 years ago) don't bother me anywhere near as much as Xenons.

Back in the 80's I had 100w Halogens in my spot lamps, and 55/100w in my regular headlights, and although super bright on full beam only, never seemed to trouble anybody coming in the other direction, so long as I dipped early enough.

But to me, Xenons just have this piercingly bright light, which usually completely blinds me momentarily.

Just thought I'd use this thread to apologise to whoever buys my current company car in 4-5 years time (320d SE Touring so further appologies for not chosing the 330d model). smile

I specified it with a manual gearbox as I'm mostly on motorways and the auto option cost more in Co2/tax terms/fuel, it came with leather seats anyway so I added heated seats. Adding a sat nav took it over budget, so rather than going down to the lower powered 318d version I kept the 320d option and use a stand alone sat nav.

Since I don't tend to drive very much at night (as I'm good/quick at my job and only have a 5 minute lunch break I get home before dark even in winter) so I didn't chose any upgrades to the lighting either. Since it's a company car they expect me to actually use it to travel around so it'll have at least 90K on the clock when it goes back after 3 years.

I just thought I'd give a bit of an insight from a 'mushroom'. wink

The wife lets me use it anyway. It's not bad, needs Xenons though.

Seriously, buy new or widen your search criteria.

I'm with fella above, I bought my e93 new and specced it fully apart from auto and front parking sensors (would have been another two month' wait). I got to choose my seat colour, how bright the candles were at the front, how big I wanted my blinding screen inside and how harsh I wanted the ride on my twinging back as a result of the vanity wheels.

True, I could have got a less garish seat colour that Im not afraid to scratch with my jeans, a more supple ride, drive along without being blinded by the screen inside nor blinding everyone else by the batsignals at the prow but I managed to get the spec i want.

Nowt wrong with manual, cloth seats, non xenons, just if it isnt what you want then i wouldnt get annoyed, just buy new or settle for a good car that is 90% to your spec.

Similar problem when I was looking for an E91 330i.

I realised I didn't have enough money and made do.

IIRC my criteria narrowed it down to two or three for sale in the UK.

Fussy , me.

Chill yo beans! Some people would spec the manual as its more economical, more fun and faster to 60. Although i would personally spec the auto, cos imlove auto diesels. The lack of leather is ridiculous, but still a 330d manual would be great

confused Presumably someone who wanted cloth seats and a manual box? It shouldn't be that much of a shock to realise that not everyone has the same tastes as you. If it was me, I'd have specced cloth seats and a manual gearbox because I prefer cloth seats and manual gearboxes. I also wouldn't specify xenons because I think they're too bright.
OMG CLOTH SEATS!!!1!! I'M SURPRISED IT ISN'T FITTED WITH A MANUAL CHOKE AND CROSS PLY TYRES

Great post rofl

Not sure what you think is c**ty about all this OP; you're clearly being very fussy if you can't find a 3 series in 6 months. They're everywhere.

I wanted a black S2000, but bought a very good grey one instead. It was a lot easier that way, I'd still be looking for it now probably. Forget the colours (within reason, I'm not saying go for a red one) and up your mileage a bit and you'll find one.
