An 05/55 plate M6 is just falling into the price range, compromise on 4wd and possible running costs (An AUC Warranty will negate them to some extent though).

R33 Skyline GTR? Maybe R34 - not sure what a decent one goes for these days.

Thinking outside the box - ML 55AMG

Quick!..ish..(approx 0-60 sub 5sec, 0-100 10-12?) Close-ish
Nice engine noise!? Oh yes
Carry 2 in comfort!...good handling, but good ride quality as well, nothing harsh! 2 + another 2 in total comfort
GT-ability (touring/some luggage space) How much space do you want?
Track-ability, but bottom of the list, handling/feedback/driver invlovement more important There'd certainly be plenty of driver involvement keeping it on the track
Not too expensive to run (fuel, tyres, ins etc) Yep, except the fuel bit may be an issue
4WD for everyday use?...maybe? 4WD and off road ability
Budget?..up to 12-13k Easy

I might be bias but consider the following...

If your budget stretches further, this one currently on sale at £16.5k...

Meets most of your criteria except ride quality!

Not 4wd, but how about a 3.0 Z4 Coupe?

This is probably a good shout. Why do you need 4wd for daily use? RWD has never been a problem for me.

What about a supercharged mk3.5 MX-5?

Fast cheap reliable - pick two. Otherwise fork out 50k.
I have a car that has so far proved to be all of those things. It cost me £3k.

The 996 I had was one of the most comfortable cars I've driven.

Particularly good on 17" rims, but still good on 18s.

Not 4WD but a CLK 55 AMG ticks a lot of the other boxes

Can only see cheaper ones on line (£10k-ish) but for a few grand more you could have a 63.
