Things you've found in the car....

We bought a written off MINI last year to donate parts to a race car and whilst stripping out down found the owners crusty, sports sock in the door pocket. Not crusty from use on his foot from the appearance of it.
Cleared up how he may have been distracted enough to have driven it under the back of a truck quite as hard as he did though.

About 30 condoms in the seat pockets of a hire car.
New or Pre-enjoyed?Late 1970s my dad found a credit card in a new Chrysler Horizon. It was a French card, and my Dad posted it back to the Chrysler factory in Paris with a letter he wrote in French. He got a thank you note from the card owner, a line worker at the plant.
I found a bar of Japanese soap under the passenger seat of my R32 GT-R. I auctioned off my genuine 'rare JDM' soap on the local forum for charity.
Also, used to work at a car importer years ago and had to pick up an Integra Type R from the docks. I got it back to the yard and found the ashtray was rammed with weed. The car had cleared customs no less than two hours earlier....

Taking ownership of a Nova GTE company car from another employee:
Melted ice lolly and ice cream with half bitten cone along with a mobile phone in the glove box
Unclean pair of pants in the boot and a half eaten dog chew stick
Trying to get into the mind of the person that previous owned the car led my mind to some dark places I can tell you. Thankfully it was long before camera phones.

Drivers side seat on a new car was sliding roughly when adjusting forwards/backwards. Got the garage to sort it out and on return it was working smoothly but would not slide back as far as it used too by about 40mm. Had a quick look underneath and discovered a 10mm socket jammed in the runner.

I bought a secondhand M3 a few years ago and it had an annoying rattle from somewhere inside the dashboard, it could be cured by a good thump but a week or two later it was back, another thump and it was OK for a while. Anyway, I arranged for a hands free phone system to be installed and the technician had to pull the dashboard apart and there inside was a lovely screwdriver. Good thing it didn't short anything out and the rattle was cured after that.
Incidentally that 2.8 engine was as smooth as silk and I sold the car with 270000 trouble free miles on the clock, I've run beamers ever since.
2.8 m3 do you mean 2.3, 3.0, 3.2 or 4.0 or did you have a 328i sport and tell people it was an m3.. Incidentally that 2.8 engine was as smooth as silk and I sold the car with 270000 trouble free miles on the clock, I've run beamers ever since.
