Which tax loophole is that?
I wouldn't have thought that it was a tax loophole but a specifically designed tax relief for prototyping, something like this:http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ct/forms-rates/claims/randd...
A very good friend of mine; every couple of years, is invited over to Germany by BMW for a form of driver training in their cars, the type of job he does involves security on a national and international level for the UK, they will basically spend a week driving BMW's about on closed roads and circuits learning certain driving techniques for evading capture and safe high speed driving.
At the end of the week most of the cars are wrecked and go off to be crushed, these cars are prototypes and cars that have issues and have been bought back by the manufacturer from customers all of them are destined for the crusher however they get some use out of them before hand.

The Porsche Experience centre at Silverstone uses some cars that don't have chassis numbers which means they have to be destroyed afterwards. Some of these were development cars they told us.
Land Rover said same to me on one of their experience days. Tax benefits were mentioned there also.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
