The car you miss the most

One of these...

May well have been this very car as there were only forty two of them made.
Miss it because? A four hundred cubic inch V8 (6.6 litre), handbuilt British grand tourer that could cover ground at a rate similar to my big bore Kawasaki that I owned at the time... Just sitting in it was an occasion... nuff said!
Sold it because? Less than ten to the gallon and I was earning a pittance printing dole cheques on the night shift...
Will I ever get another? Not unless I win the lottery which is pretty unlikely as I've never bought a ticket!

Probably seems a bit tame compared to some of the other cars on this thread, but I seriously miss my 1996 Subaru Outback. Sort of like this one:
Best car I ever had. Drove brilliantly, was super comfortable, did everything you asked it to and that Boxer engine made a decent noise to boot. Sold it early 2009, after having it almost two years, because I was moving from Australia to the UK. Absolutely gutted to leave it behind, but no other choice! Don't actually have a car over here, but am working on it.
I still miss that car.

Ditto I miss my Celica. It was a dark metallic blue pre-facelift, a rare non T-Sport 190. As I've already said on the current Celica thread, I do genuinely rate them as quite simply all-round excellent cars, but the time and place of my ownership means I remember it especially well. It was my first car, and running it was the result of my philosophy of investing in what you enjoy, and enjoying life. It felt good to drive swiftly or slowly, it felt good to look after it and wash it, it felt good to look at it out the window. It took me, friends and girlfriends here and there on adventures. On that last point, it played a good part in getting me here and there into many girls pants too...So yeah, a great car in my opinion, and one I remember very fondly.
Selling it to get a diesel Mondeo on the basis of 'growing up' (i.e. having a flat, a long commute, and (I thought) a long-term girlfriend) was one of the silliest things I ever did. Firstly whatever I saved running the Mondeo was wiped out by its constant need for repairs and more importantly throughout my ownership of the Mondeo I may as well have donated my nob to science as an example of the lesser-spotted antique curio. As soon as I moved onto something a bit more interesting I rediscovered my mojo and this confirms my previously-alluded-to philosophy - whatever it is you enjoy, invest in it and enjoy it, and this makes you a better, happier and more attractive person. And don't buy a diesel Mondeo.

As mentioned on another thread I still wish I had this.
Never tired of the bark of the twin Webers.
What possessed me to swap for a 5GT Turbo? - must have been mad.
Great fun little car though.
This....
Fiesta Pop Plus, 957cc from April 1986 to November 1990. Pictured here on the prom at Le Touquet in September 1989.
Always been my favourite car. I think it's the memories and what you did and where you went that makes it the favourite; I was 18 and had it when I was a student and took it to France when I went to work there; went all around Europe in it, 188000 miles and it NEVER broke down. I learned all my own maintenance and repairs on it.
I bought it off my dad (he was a vet and it was one of the surgery cars) for £600 including a years tax and insurance. I actually never paid any insurance as I left it on their block policy and never re-registered it Oh how smug I felt til I had to insure my own car! People had a far more lax attitude to car tax back in the mid 80s as well.
On the front it had some rally lamp mounts and a set of four Cibie Super Oscars - I used to live in Amiens and my best friends dad worked for Valeo. They cost me £19 if I remember correctly The XR2 alloys were the dogs danglies back in the day, and the spoiler was a Ford RS item that cost a whopping (back in the day) £195. I had the Mk2 shape boot lid courtesy of the local VW "specialist" who ran into the back of me one day.
I'd do anything to be able to travel back in time again and have such a carefree life. Drives always seemed faster and more fun too as there was less traffic. Even now I still have dreams that somehow I manage to buy the car back (however I suspect that the reality is that I'd be rather embarrassed to drive it ) Happy days
(Edited to add some trivial guff)

My C63 goes back in February and I am already sad!!! I can't imagine living without this car, it is truely sensational and a magical event every time I fire her up!!
Timing means I have to go dull for a couple of years, but I will be straight back into a new C63 when I can.
Only other car I miss is my 2006 S2000... enough said on the other thread, but what an engine.

I'm very happy with my current pair of cars, as I've just used each car I've owned's ownership experience to inform the next, and sort of homed in on my ideal two cars. However, if I was to pick a third car from my previous cars it'd probably be my mk1 MR2 - it was just so close to perfection: compact, great driving position, lovely gearchange, Japanese build quality, decent handling and quite practical. My Elise S2 111S was a better car in every way, but I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder - I only sold the Elise 18 months ago, whereas I parted with the MR2 12 years ago...
Out of all the cars that I've parted ways with it'd have to be my old '86 205GRD, its handling mostly. Did come across it about a year or so after I had sold it, the old girl had been give a spray (looked a damn sight more silver-y than it had when I'd got rid) but the suspension on the drivers side had collapsed.
I have however been missing this old girl -
She's been off the road for a year and a half, one engine rebuild and a bit of fettling later, she's heading for her MOT this Friday (I'll also be missing where she's parked as well, Grandad's place is being sold after he passed away at the beginning of the year, his garages are wide and one has an inspection pit :'( ).
