Faults that follow you from car to car?

Leaks, as in wet carpets.

Until recently every car I owned leaked to some degree. All different makes none clogged with leaves or parked 'funny'.

There isn't a lot more annoying than a leaking car.

Fuel gauge needle keeps falling over. Always to the left for some strange reason.

Passenger side window motor, In my corsa dropped when stopped at services for toilet and was having a cig and then it just dropped! Exact same scenario with my golf!

Air con. Never had a car with it working properly and its never been worth the cost of taking the car apart to find the fault.

Snapped suspension springs. One of the "perks" of living in the countryside I think.

Corrado- one front
Golf- one rear
Focus- both front

Also, each of my last 3 cars has eaten a rear right ABS sensor at some time in the first year of ownership.

Both my Golf and SEAT have had air conditioning compressor failures.

Temperature issues.

On my fifth car in my five year driving career.

1) Land Rover Freelander diesel - heater matrix leaking coolant into the passenger footwell
2) Ford Focus - fine
3) Mazda MX-5 - used to overheat randomly, never found out why
4) E34 BMW - head gasket went
5) Ford Puma - just got it, but at the very least it needs a new stat as temperature fluctuates

My dad's Discovery also had the head gasket go after I drove it a few years ago.

I'm on my 3rd BMW now, and I still haven't managed to buy one with a working cigarette lighter yet. Next one I suspect that will be the first thing to get checked on the test drive.....

No, the "indiscriminate flasher" was a ford xb coupe (Australian model-think mad max's coupe), next was a Toyota 4runner, then an Isuzu Trooper.

Rust...I've owned a lot of Fords and now a Fiat.

Steering wheel wobble, i.e. front wheel balance, and a slightly off-skew steering wheel.

4th car now but (touch wood) the Mazda only has one of them.

And I'm very careful with potholes, speedbumps, avoid kerbs, so I don't think it is me.

The wife's last three cars have all needed a new clutch within 3 months of ownership. She swears it's not her....

I've never had a car that didn't have a problem with the headlight washers.

Either not working at all (sized pumps) or leaks (all BMW's!)

Sticking calipers. Previous two cars I had both needed replacements and I've had several more problems before that
