Mind you, what happens if I'm reversing into a parking space? Do my front and not-front diffs swap roles and thus labels? Does this happen when I select "R" or only when the car starts moving backwards?

OK, I'll explain HAHA.

So you're buying/selling a diff, it's a BMW lets say doesn't matter.

Why put rear diff?

It's a differential for a 325i not a 325i ''rear diff'' - WHAT ELSE WOULD IT BE?

If you were after buying a diff for an EVO, particularly a rear one. Would you not look for an advert saying something like 'EVO rear diff for sale'

Maybe it's the front diff if it's an E30 325ix

Hello, is that the Diff shop (Diff man)...Or is it "Duff man..Can I have a diff for my Sierra Cosworth, yes Sir, front or rear?

Sorry, I can't say, someone who plays the Banjo and posts on PistonHeads has asked us not to mention rear diff.

I think someone in the past has had some axle grease rubbed up his rear diff.

Hmmm.

Yes I know dear. lol

So you'd look at a 4wd car for parts for your 2wd would you?

Obviously you'll state for a 4wd car front or rear.

The point is when its 2wd.

Why specify rear/front?

My car has a rear diff, a front diff and a centre diff.

Not being able to call the rear diff the rear diff would be a tad inconvenient.

Maybe we would be OK calling it a stern diff?
