I couldn't possibly sell it though, the obsession is getting stronger by the day.
My daily is a C43 Touring and I have a S123 that needs a bit of work
I think a 124 will fit in nicely....
The car looks a peach, and those colours make it. The Cat C will hurt it for a dealer, but will make less difference for a private sale.
Properly cleaned, fixed and fettled, I reckon you'd get 3K for that. I'd certainly consider it at that sort of ball-park myself, and they have a strong following generally. Some other posters are under-estimating its appeal.
ETA - actually, with that spec, I reckon the market would pay 3.5 - 4 all day long.

The chap who specialises in W124 would have that up for £5-6.5k. I don't think the Cat C effects the value to much as cars with that spec, milage and condition are like rocking horse st. If someone likes it they will pay that.

It's worth 3k minimum if it is not rusty. 800 won't buy a lot of 124 any more unless you have a lot more cash to spend on the body, suspension etc or strike gold with a local pensioners car. Prepare it properly. Throw the body kit in the bin (or sell it separately).
Take time to advertise it well. Full description, comprehensive information, sensible order of that information, remaining faults identified but not laboured, appropriate language, attractive photos (take them during the golden hour with a wide aperture).
Do that and you should get £4k.
Or don't bother and get £1,200.

The (new) driver's side wing looks to be a less-than-perfect fit at the bonnet/'A' pillar.

Well, everyone's comment's are extremely welcome and have given me food for thought.
I've sent a few email's across to someone I know who is a professional car valeter/detailer along with some picture's of the car and he's given me a run down of what work he would to the car Inside and out ,which would take approx two day's to complete.
I think I'll be going down this route of bringing it back to as good a condition as I can along with repairing the speedo and giving the mechanical's a good going over, though at the moment these seem to be very good.
I'll start a thread on the car In member's ride's section when I get It started.
