Noble values are only going one way . The titanium 11k miler at Kerridges is as good an example as you're likely to find albeit a bit over budget .
best real world sports car I have ever driven...I'm worried they'd be left behind in terms of future values compared to say a CSL?

Wont lose a penny, but probably wont gain anything either.
for 30k you will probably get a stupidly powerful one if your into that.
ETA: This looks like a gem

It depends how important ultimate ability on the track is, if it's the main thing then an S1 Exige is indeed what you want, but personally I'd be after a nice 993 and enjoy the road driving more.
Whats the next peg down from a Turbo when we're talking 993s?Chicane-UK said:

A 993 RS or perhaps a GT2. Should add one to your list....;)
Ha! That's a step up isn't it?So in terms of 993s in the £30k range, it's either a C4S or a C2 right?
The Lotus is a bloody brilliant machine but depends how hardcore you want to go. Mid way between the Seven and CSL I reckon. And the Elise/Exige S1 is a wonderful looking thing IMO.

But being a big lardy lump it will eat tyres, brakes and fuel
As well as the odd mechanical bit
A caterham may depreciate more but not much more
However it is very light on consumables
Cheap'ish tyres and cheap brakes and not that bad on fuel on the road As well as the odd mechanical bit

Far more practical for those summer days for a nice drive out
