Because it's their car and it makes them happy?
That goes without saying, but I really don't understand why it makes them happy?Sure, people have different tastes, but this????

I am rather bemused by it. Why would someone do this to their car?
Why do you care? Each to their own live and let live.I don't find it offensive or anything, and I have no problem with the owner putting the badging on. I just wonder at the thought process behind it. I also wonder why it's almost invariably done to Range Rovers.

If the green Rover in the OP's profile is his, then people in glass houses etc etc...
You mean the unmodified (except wheels, which were as close as I could get to factory fit) V8 which was exactly how it left MG Rover? You'll have to explain that one to me.Impasse said:

There aren't many things I hate more than modified Range Rovers...Sports are chavvy in the extreme anyway, why in god's name would you want to make it any more?
I'm chavvy, yay! Especially as mine's modified with All Terrains, some Polybushes and harder brake pads. Such a council dweller.ZOLLAR said:

Can you imagine the state of the owners house?
I saw one of these recently that had Mrs K**R, displayed proudly on both bonnet and boot lid.
Why?
White Evoque and in the Swansea area?I saw one of these recently that had Mrs K**R, displayed proudly on both bonnet and boot lid.
Why?
If so I saw it by Dyfatty lights a few weeks ago, looked awful.

You'll have to explain that one to me.It was superb to drive (even if it did chew through rear tyres in 6,000 miles even with a light right foot)m and it's certainly one of the more interesting and individual cars of the last two decades, which I don't think can really be said of a Rangey Sport with some aftermarket badges on it.

I might not have chosen the colour had I specced it new, but given they only made about 20 Mk1 V8 estates, I didn't have a great degree of choice on the second hand market at the time. Other than that, what's not to like about a front wheel drive, transverse mounted V6 car which the loony makers decided to turn into a rear wheel drive, longditudinally mounted V8 with no space for an ashtray in the front (gear box too big) half the spare wheel well taken out by the rear diff and the other half by the battery, ECU and various other bits of electronics which no longer fitted under the bonnet, and was artificially limited to 155mph, despite the fact that its natural top speed was, er, 155mph?

good for you but since yours is 'certainly one of the more interesting and individual cars of the last two decades' what choice does everyone else have but to make the best of the rest?It was superb to drive (even if it did chew through rear tyres in 6,000 miles even with a light right foot)m and it's certainly one of the more interesting and individual cars of the last two decades, which I don't think can really be said of a Rangey Sport with some aftermarket badges on it.
Ex VeeDub owner?? Although, I doubt it.
I am sure the owner/operator thinks that it is uber cool to look at - because people keep stopping to point and take photographs.
Or, he works for a shiny sticker and badge company, and needed to justify a demo car purchase.
Whatever his motivation, its a pretty good anti-theft deterrent.
