Sixty grand difference, if its performance in a straight line, spend ten on the GTR and see what happens.
Or get a 2nd hand 996/7 turbo and take it to 9e but that's not really relevant to the test in the video is it?Both are so quick its irrelevant, been in a 991 turbo and got out wondering what happened.
Pointless drag race who didn't know the 2wd car would lose out to the two 4wd cars with launch control, shouldn't the Nissan been put up against the regular 911 Turbo which at 120K is already a very large 50K more let alone the 70k difference between Turbo S & the GT-R.
If I was spending that much more on a Turbo S I'd be wanting a better win than that.
I'd take the Hellcat

That 911 Turbo is some motor, there are not many road cars that can beat the GT-R off the line, but that 911 kicked it ass, and did not give any warning lights after launch control start.
Better traction because of the rear engine placement also helps the 911 a bit... nothing to do with warning lights, but it's an advantage.Might be a silly question, but, considering the cost difference, why not compare the Nismo?
I'm a huge GTR fan, and I too would like to see some timing data. Just to see if the driver in question was a capable driver.
For all we know, the best driver may have been in the hellcat, just compromised by that vehicles 2wd architecture.
As it is, I'm left very underwhelmed by this piece.

Tipping the £ scales at 142K basic price with really a significant number of three and four letter acronyms.
More horses and less weight than the box std GT-R. Expecially with the sport+ option dropping the 0-60 time significantly.
After all Porschar make 24 different 911's so getting the right one to use cannot be so difficult. There are 3 GT-R's.....
The Non S Turbo would be the relevant competitor to the base model GT-R

Why would having the engine in the rear improve traction in a 4wd car?
The 911 4WD system is rear-biased, unless that's changed. In that case, consider me schooled. While it's not a huge difference, it might be about just enough to improve off the line traction (comparing with a front-engined car)
