I like it, I also like the fact you wouldn't be as precious about using it as it should be used.

It looks tempting but I wouldn't mind betting that it's not far away from needing a rebuild which will be circa 20k.

Yeah I suspect whoever buys this is going to use it daily.

Reading how Porsche warranty deals with warranty at the best of time I wouldn't be too concerned. Go into it with your eyes open and find a good specialist to look after the car. Then just enjoy. Good point about going back to regular brakes as well.

Which is interesting as someone said above that a low miles example would be around 20k more expensive.

I maintain that cars like this are for using properly. I said the same to the guy who bought the Clio R27 with only 9k miles on it.

People spouted the same nonsense when his 180k mile 996 GT3 was on the market.

There's one at my mates place having a bit of work done to it. The condition of it would make you cry. Don't think it has ever been cleaned, inside and out frown
Better that way than in an air conditioned garage with 150 miles on the odo!

I think the only other thing is the over rev report, I would expect at least something. Range 1 is 9k I guess, but still not once in 3000 hours service has it had a mis timed down shift?

I'd buy it without thinking.
Mileage is irrelevant, really.

Whilst over in Japan recently we had the pleasure of driving a big mileage (can't remember exactly but was well into 6 figures) Honda NSX.

Can honestly say it was one of the most taught and responsive driving cars I've ever driven.

I'd happily have that GT3 and the change over a 10k mile car that's never been used properly smokin

It all comes down to whats been done really.
Things like bushes perish over time and if the owner has spent the money in the right places it will be fine.

Shells do lose some rigidity over time, ask any race team, but if its been used mostly on the road and looked after properly then it will be fine. You average driver wont notice the 0.2% reduction in stiffness.

The main issue would be general engine wear (leak down test required really) plus gearbox wear.
These are popular cars and plenty of specialists will rebuild engines and gearboxes for reasonable costs.

The price is another discussion though.

Seems like the perfect track toy if you have the budget? The £20k saving over a decent one buys a few sets of tyres and you would fret as much about values/condition etc...

I'm loving this car..... if the PCCB's are ok, I don't see what the problem is. I sold my 997.2 GT3 recently as it was a museum piece that I felt guilty driving. This car is what I'd want to replace mine with - a truly useable GT3.

Perfect spec too - although I prefer white (if I'm being picky)

If that was just a bit lower, sub-£50k, I'd be over there to buy it.

Owner is a hero. Need to get him on here so we can be regailed by stories of GT3 adventures. Hopefully not just 80 miles a day up and down the M1 or something.

Looking at Autotrader, the next gt3 has 50k miles and is 20k dearer.
If it's been serviced, id say all necessary parts would have been replaced.
Personally, Id consider it...
I wonder what the 'true' mileage is on a lot of them.

That's tempting. And probably the only semi-affordable way into a GT-class Porsche now...
