Not as common as BMWs (2000s) with missing headlight washer jet caps. They shoot off after freezing in the winter hehe

Because they've all fallen off by now... biggrin
No it's ok, there's still a few flapping about. I passed one on the M4 yesterday.

Don't understand why they glue the badge on as all that is really needed is 2 wholes and the badge to have 2 prong clips that would have been better solution and the badge would have cost not much more then produce then the cost of the glue.

I've noticed this a lot lately as well!

Another one is the second-gen Vauxhall Corsa with those two rubber spoiler things under the front bumper that meet in the middle. One of them always seems to be hanging off.

Also what about Fiat 500s with missing door handles? That seems to be a very weak point for them.

Merc SLK seems to suffer from this too (the newer model, seen a couple of 63 plate ones with the star missing)

What about Seat's with their rear badge/boot release stuck in the up position. Seems to affect Seat's more than the same era VW with the same design.

My mk5 r32 suffered with this. Suffered lots of other ailments too to be fair.

How do you know for certain they've just fallen off and not pried off with a screwdriver for the purposes of being listed on ebay?

The same door handles as fitted to Alfa 147s and GTs from 10 years previous. A manufacturing fault with the front hinge that causes them to break (crap casting in zinc) and the whole handle to come off in your hand.

Replacement hinges are dirt cheap but fitting them is a b'stard.

Another erstwhile common site - Mk3 Ford Fiestas with the rear under-bumper bodywork crumpled upwards, caused by the exhaust back box corroding and snapping off its connection to the rest of the exhaust, tilting forward and catching on the road surface, thus lifting the entire rear of the car up, wheels and all.

This reminds me of being in Mallorca last summer. Every Seat Ibiza had the S badge missing from the front. Why?

Ford officially recognised the issue with the Ford badges breaking apart, and they 'quietly' instructed Main Dealers to replace the Ford badges on any Ford less than 10 years old. After a heated discussion between Ford UK, the local main dealer and myself, they replaced the peeling badge on my 2009 Focus. I am not sure if they are still doing so though.

It's pretty annoying losing a badge, but I wouldn't actually scrap my car for it

I remember my father used Elastoplast medical tape on his blue Mondeo. My mother was using the car more than him and it was almost a month before she spotted it. Worked well! He did have some history though as he used normal plasters when my mother cracked the corner of the bumper.

This stuff:

Not a 'PH car', so many may have missed the 'missing chevron phenomenon' that afflicted the Citroen Xsara's front grille.
