If it's got double red lines, you'll need to put a small coffee table in the boot of the car and load/unload this into your house.....
Red lines are used on some roads instead of yellow lines. In London the double and single red lines used on Red
Routes indicate that stopping to park, load/unload or to board and
alight from a vehicle (except for a licensed taxi or if you hold a Blue
Badge) is prohibited.

I'm sure with a sheet of MDF, a tin of yellow paint and an old security light you could knock up a handy 'bird box'. wink

Are you allowed to park on the street at night (i.e. single yellow lines?). If so, park a car on top of one of the speed humps which will force the bikers to go over the other hump rather than down the middle.
Doesn't even need to be parked on top of the speed hump. Just a few feet either side would mean they have to slow down to drive around the car just after going between the two humps. smile

Organise a car cruise night, a few local barry boys with lowered Polos that have to slow to 2mph to get over the speed bumps should mean the bikers get bored pretty quickly.

Sadly the road is fairly wide. Cars are always parked outsides houses and it has no effect.

Try telling a guy with a sports bike that his after market is exhaust is a anti-social and sounds dreadful. They always seem to take that well.

frown

The speed humps need to be converted to full ones then.

Or buy one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Blackrock-Hi-Vis-Waistcoa...

And stand outside your house pointing a hair dryer at passing bikers.

Remember the story from a month or two ago with that granny pretending her hairdryer was a speed gun...

Owner of 1 very loud bike and just a loud bike here...

I enjoy my bike, but there is a time and place - which is not a residential area with speed bumps at night.

If there are a few bikes doing this then I would have a word with your local community police. If they are driving recklessly or speeding then it would be an opportunity for the police force to make some cash. Worst case is that they will realise its an area on the watch list and find somewhere else more suitable.

Alternatively, approach your local news rag - if there is a school or child's playground near by, work that angle to get a scathing article written. It might attract a bit of publicity which neither the local authority or police force would appreciate.

Nice thing about this is if they have an online news site then they can upload the videos too.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with bikers, some of them are wkers.

I live on a wide, straight, well sighted road at the point two lanes merge in to one just after a set of lights. All day people are constantly honking each other for merging infractions and at night all manner of cars and many, many bikers treat it as a perfect location for a quick blast to the top of the rev range.

Soon we are moving house.

Get out there and flag them down? If they stop nicely explain why it's pissing you off, and keeping your son awake? You never know...
This. We had the same issue, both bikes and a couple of cars, including a guy in a Gallardo.

I flagged them down, very politely highlighted the family nature of the residents, pointed out that I've had bikes and fast cars and enjoy speed as much as the next guy, but suggested they moved to other, very nearby roads, where there was no residential impact/danger to get their thrills.

All conversations were very polite, and the drivers understood. Being nice sometimes works.

That said.....years ago, we had kids on trail bikes screaming up and down a bridle way behind our house. Got told to 'fk off' when we tried the same approach, Rang the police, totally uninterested, until I rang about the placement of fishing wire at neck height across the bridleway. Police were there within 5 mins. They obviously misheard the conversation I was more concerned that someone 'might' place wire across. Fixed the issue though.

OP, I notice your location.
There is an R1 (with very small plate) that regularly visits the unit next door to ours and bounces the hell out of the valves on it every time he arrives, then red-lines all the way up the surrounding roads and can be heard for at least a mile!
We are in Aston, feel free to PM me the reg no and if the same I will have a word as I know the group?

I share the OP's location and frustration. Haven't seen the bike in question but get the impression there are several of these gangs around. Often to be found tearing up the flowerbeds in the local park too. Though probably less of a menace than the quadbikers, they are something else altogether.

Last time I called the police at least they had the decency to explain that they couldn't do anything unless someone was injured, since pursuing them was more dangerous and besides, they never hung around long enough anywhere to catch them.

So there's your answer. Move house.

Outside a Greenpeace convention?
When driving past a Jeremy Corbyn interview/speech?
