I do love a metallic yellow. I've had a 350Z GT4 in Ultra Yellow and now an Elise in metallic yellow and it looks great in the sun (remember that?).

Aircooled 911s really suit a more understated colour - that green is jawdroppingly nice in my eyes, despite not really liking dark greens on any car. In fact, I think the 911 is a car that carries off a lot of colours well. Some cars really don't.

I believe this may be the Zonda I was banging on about, though the image really doesn't do it justice:

You could argue Liquid Yellow from Renault is a good match for that. Renault also released Petrol Blue which is an incredible colour.

Yeah, Renault's Liquid Yellow is certainly very, very close in terms of hue but in the flesh they're miles apart. You'll probably just have to take my word for it though smile

Sorry to be boring but it has to be British Racing Green. It gives class to any car it's on.

Whaaa? I can understand not liking German diesels in white, but a Civic Type R should be in Championship White, Honda's heritage colour!

How about a lime green S2000 - apparently only seven were sold in the UK across the nine years of production!

There was one of those green s2000s for sale on autotrader last week. Looked very nice. Lime green is a fab colour.

Somewhat tangential to comments that shape plays a part in what colour looks good, I remember a car design person (I used to work in the industry) saying the proof of a shape being 'right' is it will look good in any colour.

Am trying to imagine a 355 in beige. Sort of works... I think

Dark green I think. Everything looks good in dark green. It's very descriptive as a colour I think.

I like red though but I think dark green is "best" smile

I don't have photos to hand, but 2 car/colour combinations stand out for me:

1. Citroen DS (the original ones) in the lovely metallic green

2. Peugeot 205 gtis in miami blue.

This one? Yes, good call

Miami Blue is lovely too, although personally I prefer BMW's Avus Blue

The blue from the Nissan Skyline 400R

I don't think it's the same as #BN6 - Deep Marine Blue though. Where is Andy with his R32 GTR? That's a lovely Deep Marine Blue smile

I think Lotus have stopped offering Liquid Yellow as an option as it takes so long to do, shame as it is one of my favorites:

I really like multi layered paint schemes as they offer easy achievable depth when properly detailed, like that Mazda Red:

The new CX5 has an updated version of this paint.
