I simply cant comprehend with today's technology and development and research how they can mess something as basic as this?
Just stick to basic ground roots of a flipping pick up man.
You think we'd be past rust being an issue on anything, as proper rust proofing is such a non issue with todays processes. On anything, never mind japanese commercial vehicles...Just stick to basic ground roots of a flipping pick up man.
I honestly think car quality has peaked and in decline as manufacturer's dont care anymore - not so much some tin-foil-hattery that they've figured making cars that are cr@p several years after they leave the factory drives the market; just that they now mostly make disposable cars for the people who won't actually own them so dont really care for it as a possession, because thats the market, if something breaks its "oh well it goes back in a bit" and not "goddammit MY car is broken".
My merc vito is a catalogue of stupid little failures and bit of poor design despit being only 1 owner 9yr/70k, because I made the mistake of trying to think long term rather than 4 year lease and dump.

Navaras seem to be a bit of something to avoid from what I've read.
There's this issue of snapping chassis with the D40. The previous D22 seemed to suffer from chocolate engines too.
Does seem that way. I remember a previous neighbour of mine had one, I'd guess it would be called the d22, engine replaced under warranty, then the replacement failed too. There's this issue of snapping chassis with the D40. The previous D22 seemed to suffer from chocolate engines too.

Nissan I believe were giving serious discounts on new Navaras for people to trade their broken one in for a new replacement. Plus a very generous trade in price.
Some I think got new chassis fitted at Nissans cost.
Exactly what the dealer told me when I went to buy a new model (not yet bent or rusted) a few months ago. Some I think got new chassis fitted at Nissans cost.
Said owners did very well out of them.
