RE: Porsche 911 Carrera T revealed
Discussion
This is a completely pointless model to bring out. Would anyone really buy it?
Lots of better stripped out cars for this money available from other brands. Porsche do better spec'ed cars (that will be hardly any different on the road) for similar money.
Seems like a very dull and uninteresting way of getting some column inches to me.

I don't get the car
GT4
£65k base 385hp, 4.4 to 60 and 1340kg
again showing the GT4 to be the mega bargain and far lighter. ALso the RS electrics, GT3 sus and brakes.
Apart from the fact that you can't get a GT4 for less than £78k these days. And lets be honest for an 80k ish car the performance on offer from either the GT4 or this 911 is hardly outstanding. People will buy it as its a 911, not specifically for the performance. Would still give my left arm for a GT4 though.I don't get the car

I must be so gullible... I actually like the launch spec 'Porsche Marketing" - looks like perfect spec for driving very single day without being precious - but still having a little bit of bespoke about it... which the lightened glass, and ability to spec S options onto base Carrera.
Objectively though.. it should be cheaper if it a stripper ethos car - will it actually deliver a different driving experience?
GT4 is still better value at the same price....unless you just want a 911 anyway.

Prob been said before but sticking the turbo lump in completely defies the point of it, such a shame. It needs the GT4 lump (or a version of), then I'd be all over it. Rear seats for the nipper (soon to be 2 of them) are a must, so that's all the Caysters out the window for me.
So close, was genuinely excited when I saw this a few mins ago.

I like this, but it confuses me.
It's nearly £8k more than a base Carrera.
I can only see PTV, 20" lowered pasm, wheels, sport seats?
To the points about N/A, take a drive of the new engine it's a peach. I had a 991.1 GTS 3.8 before and our base Carrera doesnt feel like a step down on the road at all.
Our spec very close to this T car! All be it on 19's.

Makes me feel good about my short shift equipped manual 997 GTS with 408 naturally aspirates horses and similar weight...only thing this has that I'd want is the LSD which I could get retrofitted I suppose!
If this had the GTS engine and was a bit more expensive it would make a lot more sense...."driver focused" 911 with the least powerful engine is a bit of a curate's egg!
