Having owned a series 3 4.2 XJ6 it looks like the biggest drawback of the car is still there - the 3 speed auto really hampered the machine. And why remove the injection and revert to carbs? That's a retrograde step to usability.
Love the rest of it tho.

Is that a spoof? I can safely say I have not seen such a mis-match of ‘styles‘ on what was once no doubt a lovely car.

Just my opinion, no need to jump in with both barrels to let me know that we’re all allowed our views😉

One of the most iconic and beautiful cars of the 80's. Okay, the basic design was 70's, but that iteration is the pinnacle.

That would be so nice with different wheels, in green with a less bling interior. A missed opportunity!

Nobody but the guy brandishing his wallet in charge when it's a custom job mind!

I'm sure they would've liked to have painted it the same green as the D-types, with a black interior, and more chrome for ultra bling.

His money and his car, but it's very close to perfection. Wheels and steering wheel are not my cuppa but I love the idea.

Sub zero cool. If it had a V12 and a manual box it would be off the scale! I can see more and more of this in the future, upgrading an older analogue car with new tech/engineering without taking away the charm of what made them so desirable in the first place.

Will Jaguar celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reveal of the successor to the current XJ? Hope so.

'70s? The Mark X started in 1961 and the base design was already there.

Yup. Along with many of the other details.

You don't think it's actually going to be used, do you?

You don't think he's paying even remotely the same as if you or I asked for the same, do you?

That's a proper rock n' roll Kustom Kar.

In a proper Kustom Kar Kolour.

I shouldn't, but I quite like it!

Love that, nasty red leather aside. Coolest car at the Geneva show so far. Think a black one would be awesome. Would love to see Jag do a XJC.

Possibly the worst thing I have ever seen - and I love the original XJ, which was introduced the year I was born.

Each to their own and all that, but a no from me.
I’m with you, I think the modifications look awful, from the modern Jag fonts to the naff wheels and steering wheel, and what’s the ‘classic’ text all about?

Do it all modern, do it all retro, dont mash it up.

2/10.

Nice paint and exhaust though, doesnt look out of place.

Agreed. Perhaps some bespoke 18 inchers based on a wheel that really suits the XJ, the GKN Kent?

Not sure if I’d keep the wheels or not personally I’d need to see it in person, but the rest of that is just fantastic. This as a daily and the Ruf SCR as a weekend toy. Perfect.
