Love the concept of these, but my wife said no as she can’t be assed with sticking rhinestones on her pussy every time she drives.

Suspect the weight is all the toys and features.

Navigation system, sound system, panoramic roof, heated and electric seats all adds up.

Lightweight compared to my CLS 55!

Am I the only person that thinks this series of C Class are, well, ugly? They don't have a pretty angle at all from any side and IMO they look like something Peugeot or Vauxhall could have come up with ten years ago.
Agreed - actually this reminds me most of those Renault Laguna Coupes, especially from the rear 3/4. This shape makes the rather crude 6.2 look all that more brutish; a 'proper' AMG so to speak.

Agree. In fact, to me, the whole current Mercedes design language looks like it was originally OK but left too long in the rain so that the front and rear ends began to melt.

The 2007 C-Class looked sharp.

I actually think the outside is one of the C/E class coupe's better features, I just wish Mercedes would ditch the overgrown Tom Tom style satnav perched like an afterthought in front of the dash. The interior is fussy and ugly as a result imho.

This facelift must be significantly improved over the pre-facelift car because the Evo super test placed the C63 plum last behind the M4 and the RS5, and by some margin. Now it is apparently the clear class leader.

Or perhaps this article is just a reminder that all car reviews need to be classified as opinion pieces.

I wouldn't blame someone going for a C63 though, I quite like the look of them and I am sure that in 90% of driving situations it is more than adequate.

Bought by the wrong sort of people now, unfortunately. That's what mainstream popularity does. Good for MB though.

Curious how you define 'wrong sort of people', can you expand?

Sorry, just to clarify; I'm not saying that everyone who buys a certain type of car a c*nt, I'm saying that everyone who's a c*nt buys a certain type of car.

Happily. Baseball cap, shaved head, wheelspins outside trendy restaurants, spoilt young men, aggressive dual carriageway show offs etc etc. Same reason I got out of M3s a decade ago. In short, this:

Also how can you possibly get any enjoyment from a 9 speed gearbox other than in auto mode? Surely the ability to shift manually is a gimmick. All in the name of economy I know but come on, this is a 500bhp super coupe!
I get what you're saying, but tbh in manual mode you only really use gears 2-6 once moving. I drove a lesser C around Milton Keynes and found that I was laboriously shifting all the way up to 9th, until I realised that long straight DCs through a new town are not really the best place for manual mode.
On a B-road blast or a track you just wouldn't use 8th or 9th, and 7th would only be on a really long straight on a track.

It does in those pictures but when I've seen the C63 coupe on the road they do look quite low and wide, I think it is the picture rather than the car.
