I also gave up. It's like he was told it was several hundred words too short and just made that up by waffling, rather than adding extra detail.

Likewise.

Don't suppose Matt went along as well and could write a proper article about it please? Or the photographer?

Would anyone else struggle to walk past the Nomad to get to one of there other two?

I'd have hard time not choosing the Nomad, regardless of price.

Don’t know where the original post has gone but here’s a +1 from me.

An enjoyably frivolous comparison and celebration.

£205,000 is not "the equivalent of a small mortgage, it's considerably more

"There are 11.1 million mortgages in the UK. Based on this, the average mortgage debt amounts to £123,423. "

This writing. What an utter pile of Cackett.

P.s. Nice group of Brit cars. For me it would have to be Radical RXC if we're talking British product. And pre-war MG's, but that's a different story altogether.
What is "Cackett", exactly? and why does it require capitalisation?

Looking forward to being educated, since you must be quite some writer smile

It's the surname of the articles author; Nick Cackett, hence the capitalisation.

Cock-up on my part - I was trying to edit my punctuation rather than delete my post!

What an interesting selection of cars, especially as the new Bentley looks so much better than the old one.
A reflection of three states of aitomotive excellence in the UK, currently.

The Ariel, the result of higely dedicated bods in a shed putting out a low volume of well designed, extremely fun and slightly excentric cars using parts from whereever they might come.
The McLaren, a master calss in British engineering brilliance and a derivative of F1 allbeit a couple of steps removed. Some foreign finance coupled with ambition and excellence producing low volumes.
The Bentley, the best of Britain and Germany. German volume engineering and production prowess combined with British style and craftmanship.

None of them are Rule Britainnia but three flavours of how the Uk car industry went from zero to 11 after the 80’s.

I think Huntingdonshire's finest should be given appropriate credit for the weld work on the Nomads chassis...

Sorry but I enjoyed reading that.

Love the cars.

If only Ariel made a Nomad with 4 seats or pick-up

Very enjoyable article.

Mr Cackett is occasionally guilty of overly verbose writing but this was pitched about right (for people who can bloody read). Perhaps some of you should stick to The Sun's motoring column.

Strikes me that some here are asking for click-bait.

What would Leonard say? Drive On, I suspect.
