RE: Overfinch Range Rover Sport launched

That's how I read it ntiz.
Personally, I think it would be a shame to do this to an SVR anyway, and what's the point of doing it on lesser models?
Overfinch should just stick a supercharged 7litre V8 into it and be done with it.
SVO have left them nowhere to go, you can get a 550 BHP Supercharged V8 in the SV Dynamic with a factory bodykit, genuine 4 pipe exhaust that sounds like thunder plus a complete custom interior and paint job. With fettling the SC engine can go to over 800 hp, with all options the SVO FFRR is 25k cheaper than an Overfinch which is why my replacement will be a SVA Dynamic because I don't want daft sized wheels to ruin the air ride. When they say 'longstanding firm' is this true? Is this *exactly* the same company that stuffed huge US engines into Range Rovers in the '80s or did someone take over the brand at some point? Overfinch seem less credible and more like a Kahn competitor these days.
It went into administration in 2010 if I recall, and was bought out by one of its dealers. I thought at the time that seeing a footballer driving one on the BBC News killed the brand. Smart to flash in one easy step.nyxster said:

As you say they haven't really got anywhere else to go. But Brabus seem to run a pretty successful company going one further than AMG even if they are in the realms of total insanity.

Big difference is that Brabus do it with full MB backing and have done for a long time.
JLR don’t want do endorse any of these third parties.
Not my kind of thing, but can appreciate an SVR, fook me they shift for a big car.
But, that to me doesnt say 140 grand, its not a bad job but I cant see what its really added for 60 grand, its not like the base one is dowdy, I know what its had in terms of trim, wheels and stuff, but JLR finish them rather nicely.
Its kind of Pre over-engined now as well, that was Overfinches thing back int he 80s and 90s, when your RR came with a rather lame Rover V8 (Ok heresy, but they were pretty slow) so they stuck an engine of more fitting size and strength into them, remember being left behind in a Golf GTI in one and wondering WTF had happened, i had clocked the extra badge and a week or two later and there was an article in Autocar about them.
I am not one for too much nostalgia but that was cool, RR's were comparatively rare and hot rod conversion was so intriguing, I sort of feel for Overfinch a bit, I think they are doing ok by the looks of it, but they have gone from discreet sleepers with not that much change to the cosmetics to just doing cosmetics and no engine swaps.
Every second RR in Cheshire has a different badge on the bonnet nowadays.
