Nissan 350z. Already a common (ish) swap in The States, I'm not aware of any in the UK.
There's a bunch. Craig at Dynotorque has built a couple and a fair few drift guys run emhttps://www.dynotorque.co.uk/ls-350z/
Bought the 490 BHP one to drop in one of my Alpine GTAs last year. Have had to use some different headers and an electric water pump to get it to work so with those bits should be comfortably past 500 BHP. It's in the car but still need to get the ECU wired in and the exhaust sorted. Should be 400 + BHP per ton once up and running

Ls would drop right in to the point opel actually built a few then those mad aussies took up the mantle
no mention of price though?
I remember getting quite excited at the time Opel admitted to having a couple of V8 prototypes running around Germany. I think they were quite pricey, but a used one is a different matter.Ls would drop right in to the point opel actually built a few then those mad aussies took up the mantle

I had a lovey Omega 3.0 MV6 back then and picked it up for half price with only 10k on the clock. I decided a V8 version was the way to go, sadly it didn't happen and the project was cancelled. I was really disappointed, but then the Monaro came out and I was happy again...I still have it 11+ years later. It's good to know I could put a crate engine in it if I wanted to, and I can spare myself the electric car revolution......happy days....

I've always hankered after one in a standard looking black cab.

I’ve always been pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price of big V8 crate engines. Their power, sound and durability are so desirable and, I think, retain an enduring appeal with many enthusiasts. Here in Europe, the future of V8s is under threat as never before, so I hope that crate engines continue to be available long into the future.
It's worth remembering that most of these engines are so high torque they'll rip your transmission to shreds if just slung into a project car.
Happily Chevy has this covered and will sell you a "connect and cruise" package - engine and transmission properly paired with all the necessary computer gear attached and a long harness.
Connect and Cruise packages https://www.chevrolet.com/performance/connect-crui...
Roughly $15,000 - $20,000 for a complete modern system.

... given that Corvette C8 is going mid-engine next year GM must be engineering a transaxle. When that goes on sale in a crate it will open up a whole new world of possibilities for aspiring specialist builders who are usually hampered by the limited torque capacity or very high price of other transaxles.

I have long wanted to fit a crate V8 engine into a Carlton Estate, as I much prefer it to the Omega despite the Omega being the newer car. Ls would drop right in to the point opel actually built a few then those mad aussies took up the mantle

Very tasty indeed!I'd love an LS'ed Esprit. Or a 924. Or a Cayman. Etc.
