If I remember rightly Andy Bruce will have both. Got an F1 GTR already and has a Valkyrie incoming.
...and a Singer 911 on the way!

This is the new skool Mclaren F1. And I wish I had the cash to have the Mclaren and Valkyrie sat next too each other.
er, it's really a P2, as it has it's hybridisation from the same company that developed the P1's hybrid systems.......

The Ferrari F50 (c.1995) had the engine and gearbox as a stressed member of the chassis as well as I recall?

Not sure I think it is. This looks like a track car to me...just look at the front splitter! While the F1 raced it was designed for road use. I know this is road legal but even so...

Here's my guess at the engine: 103 mm bore, 65 mm stroke, 1005 bhp at 10200 rpm (1.36 MPa BMEP)
Is about time a car manufacturer made an engine that performed at levels motorcycles (I'm thinking BMW S1000RR) have managed for over a decade

Congrats to Aston - an example of what's achievable with the right leadership.

I knew I shouldn't have gone ex directory - maybe then I would have received the calls from National Lottery and Aston Martin respectively announcing my win and asking me if I wanted one of these - to which my answers would have been Thanks - and Yes Please !

In a world where mainstream peak power is produced around 5500rpm and even NA monsters like the F12 Superfast and Lamborghini SVJ redline at 8500, this engine is incredible.

ELEVEN THOUSAND RPM !

Absolutely love it.

If I were being ‘picky’, and there was the option, I would happily lose the electric motor and make do with a paltry 1000 or so horsepower just to have that engine in it’s pure and unadulerated form!

As an aside, in a few years time when we’re all sitting in our Parker Knoll chairs, going to the toilet in our trousers, and telling the ‘youngsters’ how wonderful things used to be, surely the V12 engine in this particular vehicle will be seen as the ‘high water mark/swansong’ for the internal combustion engine??

I expect it's 'because one can', plus it becomes a halo/signature product highlighting the technical prowess of the business in the hope it helps attract buyers to buy vehicles lower down in the range, and makes them a ton of money in the process.
