I recall these (in 350z guise) being compared to a boxster, so really you would think they are more a cayman rival today but of course tech moves on. Also Nissan really is more a seller of Small and Medium SUV's and in the US pickup trucks. So you have to ask does it make sense for them to invest in a 2 seater coupe. Its natural rival might be the new supra a car that is basically a tie up with BMW. Perhaps Nissan might so the same a 400Z shall we say based on the SLC (do Mercedes still make that) or better yet a re-bodied Renault Alpine.

I still like the 370z my guess having only ever driven a 350z in 2007 is that it probably drives well is reliable an plenty fast enough, just not as good as the alternatives from Porsche, BMW, Toyota etc.

I'd love to see them release a new 'Z. Old styling looks really dated.

I’m sure I read an article stating that the new Z was being made. It was an interview with one of the lead members of the team. It’s still in the earliest of stages.

Unfortunately it will probably have a 4 pot turbo motor pumping out 400bhp. Shame but that’s the way all engines are going.

Edited to add link.
