Why do people get involved with the insurance company?

It’s what you are ‘paying’ them for, so let them get on with it

I fear the crux of the matter is the BT driver will more than likely feel equally hard done by, he comes to the end of the bus lane, and pulls into the left lane like a good boy, only to be hit by the Audi that’s undertaking him...

Was it a Transit or a Vivaro?
It was a vivaro

BT open reach
The funny thing here is the OP is claiming it was a Vivaro.
I hope he is in on the joke otherwise the cycle repeats.
Maybe I am due a parrot.

He is. Except now they've told him they've been unable to contact his one and only witness that will corroborate his version of events and place blame with the van.

I'd be looking to get things moving myself as well, having had to wait over a year for two seperate insurance companies to pay out on two seperate incidents despite both times their driver admitting liability immediately.

IME insurance companies will hold onto their money as long as possible if you're not their paying customer.

Do you gave pictures?
Simply starting outing BT on Twitter.
Link to a website with the story.
They'll want the problem to go away sharpish.
Nothing better than shame.

They'll point out it's OpenReach, not BT.

I'm not being pedantic - they really are separate in that respect, although BT fleet solutions provide the vehicles.

Just be thankful BT didn't arrange the repairs on your car. One of their company car drivers t-boned me in September.

I've been battling with them since November. They paid a bodyshop £3700 to repair mine to a piss poor standard - still ongoing.

I remember that thread when it started but had forgotten all about it. Did the OP ever come back and admit he was wrong?
If it's this one - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... - it looks like OP flounced.

The Transit / Vivaro theme continued on this thread earlier this year - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... - where OP decides to blame BT / Openreach for damaging his car, rather than blaming his wife who actually did the damage laugh

That's the one, thanks. Just read through it again and you're right he didn't come back.
