I was always under the impression that radar detectors were illegal in the UK anyway...
Probably are, but they would be useless. UK use laser. I think in both cases, detection is legal, but jamming or interfering with the signal is illegal (obstruction). cheddar said:
I'm guessing that Richard Rawlings and Dennis Collins have reclaimed the record that Ed Bolian stole from them.
Collins has the resources to fund the operation and they're both a bit crazy.
I’d imagine that they could both find the run now, Gas monkey seems to be doing pretty well. Collins has the resources to fund the operation and they're both a bit crazy.
Possible, it would be a great publicity stunt and as you say they’re both crazy.

I look forward to details in 12 months
That's the bit that would be the worst for me. The anxiety of waiting for up to that long, wondering if there might be a knock on a door at any time. It's bad enough buzzing along at a health rate of knots, and passing a police car heading the other way

Radar detectors don't work in the UK
I was always under the impression that radar detectors were illegal in the UK anyway...Illegal in France (and other eruo countries) but I still ran one.
Now in Aus, and run one in each car.

Astonishing effort. I wonder if the reason they’re happy to talk about it is ‘no tickets, no proof’?
Statute of limitations. After one year they can’t be prosecuted. I saw an article on this earlier on Farcebook. It is an impressive feat I must admit, I realised it was an E63 just not the extent of the modifications. Average speed of 103mph is crazy and topping out at over 190 is mental.
I did wonder how many mile they were getting to a tank. My CLS63 probably gets 300 miles to a tank and that's not driving it at 100mph+. They appeared to have nailed the speedy fill ups but there must have been a lot of stops!

They had a custom fuel cell in the boot, unsure how much it added to the tank though, but probably doubled the standard tank.I did wonder how many mile they were getting to a tank.
