The big trick is having the whole route covered in spotters continuously keeping you updated as to the position of traffic, construction and the filth.

A goal in life is to do a cannonball, equalling Brock Yates time would be enough for me!

Probably are, but they would be useless. UK use laser. I think in both cases, detection is legal, but jamming or interfering with the signal is illegal (obstruction).
Yawn, fecking defeatists, ways and means my friends.
Ways and means of what exactly?!

I'm guessing that Richard Rawlings and Dennis Collins have reclaimed the record that Ed Bolian stole from them.

Collins has the resources to fund the operation and they're both a bit crazy.

I’d imagine that they could both find the run now, Gas monkey seems to be doing pretty well.

Possible, it would be a great publicity stunt and as you say they’re both crazy.

Fascinating story and the new time is a respectable gap over Ed's time.

I'm not surprised it has been broken, only surprised that it took this long. The technology has changed since Ed did it and so has the machinery available.

I look forward to details in 12 months.

That's the bit that would be the worst for me. The anxiety of waiting for up to that long, wondering if there might be a knock on a door at any time.

It's bad enough buzzing along at a health rate of knots, and passing a police car heading the other way rofl

Interesting that they can speak about it so openly after the event. Presumably traffic laws are different there and there is no fear of being hauled up and locked away for what they did.

(103mph average for over 24 hours? Wow - that's going some! Chapeau!)

Astonishing effort. I wonder if the reason they’re happy to talk about it is ‘no tickets, no proof’?

Statute of limitations. After one year they can’t be prosecuted.

They do work, and they are legal.

Illegal in France (and other eruo countries) but I still ran one.

Now in Aus, and run one in each car.

That’s my point, the run was completed a few weeks ago according to the previous VinWiki video on the subject...

I saw an article on this earlier on Farcebook. It is an impressive feat I must admit, I realised it was an E63 just not the extent of the modifications. Average speed of 103mph is crazy and topping out at over 190 is mental.

I did wonder how many mile they were getting to a tank. My CLS63 probably gets 300 miles to a tank and that's not driving it at 100mph+. They appeared to have nailed the speedy fill ups but there must have been a lot of stops!

They had a custom fuel cell in the boot, unsure how much it added to the tank though, but probably doubled the standard tank.
