That's a seriously good looking car.
But at that price they are having a laugh.

Used in a few years they will be excellent value.

On a slightly different note, did the 6 series become a rebadged 5 series GT? I have not really paid attention to BMW for a while

So basically

I can have a Tesla Model S for something a bit faster and a 1 year old (still in warranty) M3 for something a bit more engaging, for about the same £145,000

The list price of my F90 M5 was over a £100K and the first owner will have paid close to that as it was a new model then .. I sold it privately for £54K when it was 18 months old, so low a price ..mainly due to BMW deciding to supply the market with cheap M5's as it wasn't selling enough. I won't be buying a BMW M again or certainly not one younger than 2 years old. Ridiculous depreciation. This M8 will be even worse I would have thought.

So, they are both the same size.

Which one would you have? I know which one I would have.

It's certainly not the worst of the current crop of BMWs though.

Sort-of the other way round - the 5 series GT replacement became the 6 series GT. It was a new model, not just a rebadge. That was mid 2017 mind.

I do like these and I'd imagine it to be an awesome GT car. It is well out of reach for me financially though. I'll keep lusting after one though for sure.

Wow, they haven’t screwed up the front with an elongated beaver-teeth grille! Yet...

That'll be the 4 series. You can buy a pallet-full of popcorn for the comments on that one.

Wait a year and you'll find 20 of 'em pre-regd. on Sytner's website at £75K.....

I quite like it. I think the 8 series looks much better in the flesh than in photos.

The price on these is nuts though and the depreciation will be savage despite the massive incentives that will be available. I can’t see too many being sold especially given that I’ve only seen a few 8 series on the road to date.

The amount of configuration options is getting silly now. Does anyone, especially those in a two tonne GT car really need to change the firmness of the brake pedal? I’d much rather a car set up properly by the M boss than give me the option of ballsing it up.

Judging by how fast the M5 Comp was that I followed the other night, this will be blood quick.

Saw a new 8 series parked up the other day. The front overhang seems too long, the diameter of the tyres too small, and there is far too much metal above the wheel arches.

I could only laugh when I saw the price...why on earth you'd have this over an Aston or Bentley is beyond me.

Struggling with this. Looks nice enough, but I imagine it’d lose the amount of an entire new BMW M4 in the first year alone. You’d have to really want one.

Don't understand this statement "The starting price of £123,435 is more or less in line with a well-specced 992 Carrera".
I know, even with Porsches ability to charge for options I’m not sure that you could spec up a 992 Carrera to that price.
Also, since prices for high end BMWs are seemingly fictional, I’m disappointed they didn’t just make it £123,456!

I really like it but you're right. I'd have the Bentley every time. Not sure who's going to actually buy these.

Interesting certainly but lack of rear space surely a missed opportunity. S Class coupe and AMG versions much better package - check Harris our on his S63 Coupe, best real world car in the world ....
