As well as the other Alfas mentioned

Alfa Romeo 164, they did do an AWD Q4 version so the platform is there. Probably not actually that hard to make one RWD with drivetrain from an Alfa 75 / 90 or something.

I was just about to. Some years ago I built an engine for a 205 rwd tarmac rally car. It was an extremely well balanced car and a beast on the stages. I would have made an awesome road car.

Been done, first one I saw was using a E30 BMW rear end with a custom prop and more recently using a Haldex rear end crafted from a mk4 golf and no drive shafts in the front.

There is what looks like a Honda Integra Dc2 which is RWD but it's actually a sn95 Mustang chassis engine an running gear with Integra panels crafted on.

Sometimes though it's still better to have a really good fwd chassis that was designed that way rather than a hacked about rwd that wasn't really designed for it. Things like weight distribution need to be considered carefully.

Are the new ones FWD? Wow, didn't know that. Another reason why the previous gen with 3.0litre 6 cylinder is the sweet spot?!

Way back when, I sold my Corrado VR6 as I wanted to go RWD. I think the Corrado VR6 would have worked really well as RWD (I would have probably kept if had it have nee music)
