Call me a little Englander or whatever you like
Oh, ok: Little englander. I think it looks fantastic, particularly the two door version of the big 'un. The Mustang did well in the UK and Christ knows we like an SUV so who knows - maybe this will make it over here. Fingers crossed!
The proper new Bronco has three off road functions the new Defender doesn’t have: front diff lock, both front and rear detachable anti roll bars and lockable inside wheels during tight turn.
Perhaps the biggest off road advantage (I don’t think body on frame or solid rear axle are advantages or disadvantages) over the new Defender as least to most off road enthusiasts is the ability to be able to manually operate/select those off road functions separately. That has always been my disappointment with the new Defender. Now both Jeep, Merc, and Ford have shown automatic off road functions can exist with the “old fashion” manual selectable switches. Two simply do not contradict each other. A proper off roader should give driver the manual function. Others who also wants those off roaders can simply use the auto/electronic off road functions. That will cover the both sides and increase the sale over all.
Oh, the new proper Bronco is based on the current Ranger/Everest platform, therefore it could well be a global model in the coming years. Both Ranger and Everest are locally built in Australia, China and South East Asia. If American cars/off roaders like Mustangs and Wranglers are currently sold in Europe and globally, why wouldn’t this new Bronco which is based on a global platform to begin with.

For the life of me, I can’t see why some weird accident of birth should make me care more or less about cars from one particular country and not from others. I’m interested in cars, regardless of where they come from. Really can’t see why if you’re interested in cars, you’re only interested in UK cars. For the love of god, there’s a big world out there, and I’m sorry little englander, but it’s a lot bigger than your little disunited kingdom.
This.... I’m interested in all kinds of vehicles from all over. I can choose which articles to read. I’m not that interested in the new Lamborghini or Ferrari as they’re not my thing so I’m not inclined to head to those articles first. Neither am I likely to buy a new car anytime soon but that’s not why I read about cars and therefore their origin becomes even less of an issue. This Bronco does look the business though. Again, not entirely my thing but I’m glad it’s here and I’d certainly not kick it out of my garage in the morning!

The Defender has "Adaptive Dynamics" rather than traditional ARBs. Fiddle brakes as an option is cool, if a bit OTT.
