Good to know. Mine is on 88k.
We have the same engine! I have to say that I drove mine VERY hard when I first bought it.... it was bought through my company and I drove in and out of London every day for decade - at some quite silly speeds at 5.30am. When I sold the company I bought the car as I'd never had any issues with the engine it - and never have had. I'd had two XKR's previously.
Keep an eye on the rubber seal around the tailgate - worth checking that at least annually. Water in the boot is not great for the electronics. That was the only issue I had - but resolved without issue.
Diesel, petrol. Matters little. Maintenance is key. We are a throw away society and have a second hand car market that promotes chopping and changing due to just how attainable cheap vehicles are.
I lived in Australia for a period and overall car residuals were much better (not cheap) and people tended to stick with something and pay to keep it on the road. My petrol Pajero had 340,000km on.

Some marques actually have high mileage owners clubs with plenty of petrol driving owners.
I've never had a car at 200k miles but I worked with a chap who had a petrol Volvo from new that did such interstellar mileage (and cherished the car) that Volvo bought it back to keep in their collection. I think it was beyond 300k or 400k miles.

My 9-5 aero is on 179k on its original engine and is still going strong...I don't drive it gently either, previous owner was the same but the car has never missed a service etc
A friends old 9000 was on 200k on an unopened engine, we proceeded to stick a bigger turbo on it. Thing went for another 30-40k before rust claimed the shell, I still have the engine somewhere I think.

Golf MK5 GTI on 170k.. Running perfectly and barely burns any oil. Regular oil changes and cam chain replaced recently, runs spot on. DSG also which will scare a few people off come resale time.

I went in a Toyota Avensis minicab with 480k on the clock, then a few days later another that was at 750k
Both around 2005 models, looked and felt almost like new, in 2010/2012
Plenty of cars in Spain with far more, they do much bigger distances there, there are quite a few on sale now at www.milanuncios.es with over 500k and 600k kms, with no mention of rebuilds or engine changes
