What's the point of a 3dr? Less practical and let's be honest these aren't proper sports cars, they are a family car with a bit of fun thrown in so hardly a fun weekend blaster.

And surely no one buys a hatch for looks?

I think in another colour this would look quite nice.. maybe blue/black or red.

Agree on the spoiler not to my tastes.. the only issue i have with the last 2-3 civic type r's is the triple exhaust. Would much rather a single or double.

Well, I like it. It's definitely a step on from the previous model, looks-wise. Then again, I'm not young anymore so my view on a hot hatch should be immediately discounted smile

I really like that interior, even if it does remind me of a strip club.

Not sold on the wing. Wonder if it could be optioned off?

This,
Never a Type R fan, not EP3, not FD2. Until FK2, I couldn't stop myself to own one when seeing it in the show room. FK8 carry the same magic, but now this new Gen CTR, just not something for me.
For me this lack the extreme eye catching exterior (Interior look great though), found the tail look very weird, the tail light look like a Kia, the overall shape look like BMW 3GT.

But I am sure there are many traditional CTR people who dislike the FK2, FK8 would love this

Looks great, I much prefer this long and low look to the old 'cab forward' design.

Wonderful to see Honda have stuck with actual buttons for all the main controls, and not been tempted to go down the haptic route VAG have followed.

Agree this is a big plus point for me. The Golf GTi now looks/feels like a cheap French hatchback inside even if is meant to be premium; fumbling around with a sticky screen detracts from driver enjoyment.

It looks great but I'd love if it was a saloon

I was not a fan of the last gen as my 17th birthday is a distant memory and I have never purchased a max power magazine or ram raided halfords.
This new one is far more appealing to anyone over the age of 25. Looks like a practical fast hot hatch without being comically over styled. I really like the slightly retro interior. They pulled off a similarly neat trick with their electric super mini using a retro wooden dash didn’t they? If I was in the market for this class of car I would be torn between this and a gr Yaris. The Germans wouldn’t get a look in.
I'm 53 and much prefer the last one.

Will it have three rear seat belts? With three kids, this was the limiting factor for me. The previous gens only had two seat belts.

Unfortunately not looking at the US videos.

A shame & slightly odd given the main criticisms seem to have been addressed on the FK8, & this was one of them.

Really like the subtle design of this one compared to the previous generation. Would like to see it without the wing though.

I'll have mine in blue.

Looks like it's very colour sensitive then. That works so much better than the white.

Will reserve judgement until I see one in the flesh. Not sold on the rear wing mounting TBH but from behind the wheel, you just know it will be a fabulous drive biggrin:

Yep, looks like there is no middle seat:

Honda just can't win...
The sales figures will be the true arbiter and this will sell way better than the 2 previous iterations.

It's got Integra vibes for me and that wasn't fussy or overstyled either.

A sort of GT spec wing would be ideal or in Honda parlance S spec.

For me, and this is not a criticism of those who like it, looks being totally subjective, this just looks like every other fast hatch now. The last two gens of CTR had made outlandish looks a USP. Perhaps this more subtle version will attract more buyers than the more divisive older models though?

Have to say I'm not usually a big fan of white, or any other shade or grey but for me the white does really suit it.

A fast Honda just looks good in white.
