How far from the ferry is the dealership?. By the time you load it onto a trailer, lash it down etc could you be at the dealership?
Why wasnt it shipped on a trailer on the ferry if mileage was a concern.
Not too far. Maybe 5 miles or 15-20 minutes given our traffic. Seems pretty odd to lose it on a dead straight dual carriageway at 40mph, regardless of rainy weather.

Both rear wheels on the Ferrari buckled/bent/folded - my guess, some hard acceleration by the Ferrari, rear goes light, slides one way, corrects, slides the other and bounces off kerb, possibly onto other kerb and then clatters into the Jazz who merely a passenger in the whole thing and acted like nothing more than a hard stop for the red blur sliding its way towards them.....

It's about four miles, via a few windy roads. Nothing challenging. Jacksons (if that was the destination) is near the airport.

The 'X' on my map is the rough crash location, less than a mile from Jersey harbour where it was presumably driven off the ferry from Guernsey.

All a bit of a faff to load it on/off a trailer for that relatively short distance when it could just be driven there very sedately with a negligible increment in mileage on the odometer. I expect that happens all the time.

Mounted the central reservation and hit the Jazz going the other direction.

Wasn't going to Jacksons, it was heading back into town from the direction of the airport.

Was more likely to have been taken for a drive before going to DVS for registration and given the age, a cursory 15minute check for road legality.

Saw a P1 back in 2014(IIRC) doing a similar trip without the crash

Might improve the reliability.
Limits the chance of it bursting into flames at least

I can't help thinking it may have been doing more than 40mph to get trashed so comprehensively.

That makes a lot more sense. The central reservation there is just a kerbstone, easy to cross but sufficient to buckle those wheels in on the suspension.

A friend sent me a video of it getting delivered back to the DVS compound on the recovery truck looking very sorry for itself.

I know these are rare but I didn't fully appreciate the value - a quick Google says that €3.5 million is about the going rate. Yikes!

I wonder what it's done to the Ferrari's value. It's not like it's a racer where you'd expect various repairs . I would have thought a collector paying that sort of money would want a pristine original example, not one that will always be tainted by a crash all over social media. Might be an interesting discussion between the owner and the insurance companies.

My money is on the Honda Jizz being the cause. The Japanese pre-hearse is a danger on all roads. Why would you want a performance car like that in Jersey, isn't the max limit 40/50mph?

What a horrible sight.

Will the Jazz be saved or a write off?

Agreed, I can tell you there are a lot of very worried people on the Honda Jazz owners forum at the moment. Unfortunately it seems like our worst fears are realised, and the car is going to be written off.

A very sad day, we can only hope that someone buys this car from Copart and puts this very rare car back on the road.

Yeah, a slightly unhinged OAP in a small economical hatchback just happened to take out a Ferrari Enzo on its way to the bingo.

Sounds plausible.

Have you ever been to Jersey? Supercar heaven.

Yes, it might have a 40 limit but a healthy finance industry and a 20% flat rate of tax tends to attract the type who can afford them.

France is 90 minutes away by ferry. Hello Europe!

The Jazz is notorious for losing traction in the wet. With a tuned example, they could be pushing 100hp
