40/M/Staffordshire with 15 years NCB

Mustang GT was £680, renewal came in at £1550.
Decided the car wasn't for me anyway, so going back to an M340i which is due in March.

Last time I had one my insurance was £560, I'm now being quoted £830.

Our renewal went up, but a quick check on a comparison site got it back down to about £300.

My daughter (21 with only a couple of years no claims) went from just under £400, to £429.

Happy with both prices based on others stories. Medway towns as well so not as if its some rural backwater with zero crime.

Just got the renewal quote on one of my cars, up from £239 to £254. Pleasantly surprised and have not even looked for another quote.

Found the same on my car, on renewal the premium went from £250 last year to £298 ths year (May) and that was after a non fault claim as well, didn't even bother shopping around

Audi A6 in Aberdeenshire was £457, renewal came in at £678. Had a look around and couldn’t do any better so called current provider and told a slight fib that I’d been quoted £500 - suddenly my renewal was £530… funny that… I should have fibbed harder.

Probably not a M2 owner!

Their target market is probably 55 year old Margaret from accounts who has her home and cat insured through them, driving no more than 4k pa. biggrin
Ha ha very possibly - I do have a cat I guess biggrin

Not an M2 but a 997 C2S so I thought similar-ish sort of car but probably different risk profiles given model age differences etc.

I have a Trade car policy and recently they allowed me to add all my motorcycles to it

5 bikes (at the time) fully comp - £40 additional premium

I only pay £1,500 for £300k of cover for all cars and bikes including classics, imports and modified - personally I think it's cheap
The impression I'm getting is that it's the previously cheaper premiums, say sub £1000 that are seeing the biggest hikes. Bigger premiums like yours are barely changing or just in line with inflation. How much of this is because they can/volume/retention strategy/profit I guess only an insider could say. The exceptions seem to be some bonkers increases on one or two models and a bit of a re-assessment of EVs.

I can only guess but I would think doubling a £1500 premium, assuming no claims, etc, would guarantee the policy holder shopping around and a better than even chance of losing them. Doubling a £200 premium and everyone else at it, not so much.

41 with 15 years NCB and I can't say I've noticed much difference either way.

I've found for years thew renewal comes in higher, shop around and get it the same or a bit cheaper. I did find with Esure my renewal was the cheapest option for a few years though.

I do live in the middle of no where now, very rural and cars are parked off the road. But even back when I was in Surrey/Great London the prices had remained fairly consistent.

Just got what I think is a really good deal.

I live on the west coast of Ireland, full no claims and just turned 60.

The classic policy on my 1988 735i was up for renewal at 315 euro.

I've also just bought a 2002 E46 M3.

Eventually found a co that classed the M3 as old enough for classic insurance and they quoted 290 euro for it, so I also asked them about insuring the 735, no problem sir we can add to the same policy for another 71 euro!

So.
1988 735
2002 M3

Both insured for 361 euro.
Result. Can you say which company?
