Not sure about UK, but this will be blindingly expensive here in Europe. Probably on the wrong side of 50k€.
Hmm....
Easily the same here once they’ve priced in the zero emissions fines…

To be fair I think the die hards will pay it and if they don’t… it won’t be profitable and that’s that

That said, she preferred the 128ti to any of the MINIs, and even to the M135i.
I have a bit of a soft spot for the 128ti as well, and it looks a nice bit of kit to me.

Small? Little...? Have you seen any Mini produced in the last 10 years?
I have indeed. Even had the pleasure of scooting around in a R56 Cooper.

Mini is just a brand name, nothing more, like MG now.

But yeah, they are little and small compared to its rivals.

We had 30mins in one, I left really impressed (having expected to dislike it) - seems great value too. Trying to stick to a £30k budget, won't quite get us a brand new one, only very slightly used.

And crucially still drive like a small car - this newer one drives better than the last two incarnations, IME.

So if my priority is to get the best possible hot hatch for similar or less money while being new or almost new. Why, would I look at this bloated MINI? If ever there was a case for comparing new with used this be must it.

I actually quite like that., and am not a lady (Whooopps). I certainly hope it's not larger than the existing model and in regard to price; I best not go there.

Should we begin to re-appreciate why the car was invented in the first place i.e. a means to get from A to B quicker than horse and carriage and/or similar

What new/almost new hot hatch is less 'bloated' for the same/lower cost?

I think it looks quite purposeful, rides low and wheels nicely cambered.

I also hope they keep that single exhaust in the production spec. Too many cars these days have a stupid cylinder:tailpipe ratio.

A new 1-series is on the way so they will be deals in the office from June or July.

There's a saying from J.R.R. Tolkien — 'I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread.'

This sums the MINI brand perfectly. I'm awaiting to see the 2025 version of it next week...

That's okay, anyone reciting J.R.R. Tolkien quotes is usually still living with their mum aged 45, and not in the market for a MINI. biggrin

No bonnet scoop post F56, yes unless you fitted a functional air intake it was just for show but differentiated the Cooper s and JCW from lesser models. The new one is visually bland. If it's auto only then no thanks. Personally prefer the R53 and R56 styling to later models. F56 has more vents and looks more aggressive but the proportions are not as appealing as the earlier models in my opinion.
Sums up my views on this model as well. I owned and loved an 05 Mini Cooper s and always liked the looks of the f56 model. Could just about tolerate the most recent version in a silly and bright colour, but this just leaves me cold.

Is it new or facelift? (i.e. LCI)

But interesting either way, will mean decent deals to be found.

What the hell happened with that rear end. Never been a fan of Mini's in all honesty but generally they have been well proportioned.

It reminds me of what the Chinese would make if the ripped off a mini.

Gets uglier with every generation. R53 was, and still is, the best new MINI

Single exit centre exhaust looks cool. The car on the whole is easier on the eye than the GP versions

Overall looks good except for the rear lights which look out of place.

MINI could have designed something better than those rear lights which look like they should be on a Peugeot !!

Why didn’t they update the design of the original rear lights from the early 60s cars.

This looks awesome. I have owned numerous R53’s and while they are still the benchmark IMO, this looks fantastic. Although I still wish it has twin rear centre pipes.
