A monster thats shit around bends, if i didn't know any better id think it was made over the pond by the fat yanks, for the fat yanks.

Don't think people realise how much quicker the M3 is compared to this 'thing', around the lap on top gear this week in was 5 SECONDS A LAP QUICKER!, and this wasn't the nurbergring (spell check), it was a 2.45mins circuit.
it doesn't matter. There are plenty of people here who don't really get that PH is about sporting cars. Because of that, such people are obsessed by image and thus write off the better car because of its badge. The Audi is good at what it does. The AMG is just another silly Mercedes with too much power for its chassis. Clarkson wasn't going sideways. He was just about fishtailing round that circuit.

I predict more than one C63 will end up wrapped around roadside obstacles when the driver decides to play with traction control off.

By contrast, I was out yesterday enjoying the way the greasy roads allowed me to let the rear lose grip just enough on every corner while inspiring absolute confidence. And I'm a mediocre driver. I wouldn't have dared switch off TC in a C63.

My hovercraft is full of eels.

I don’t understand the question? confused

If you feel the car is to powerful there is a pedal on the right, releasing this pedal will reduce the engines power output.

Interesting to note that the article mentioned...'First real driver's car since the 190 Cosworth'...
I could not agree more. I still think the Cossie is the only driver's car Mercedes ever made.

One thing that this write up mentions which i did not hear about on top gear is the upgraded suspension , anyone now if the car on top gear was so equiped .

If it did not have the uprated suspension and the diff , it would be interesting to see how it went.

Oh, come on. If you put a powerful engine in a car, you need to engineer the car to cope with the power.

Agreed - if the car on TopGear did not have a LSD then no wonder it was all over the place, and I am sure the 5 second difference would have almost been wiped out.

and explain the abnormal tyre wear...

The C63 still won the most important race for 99% of prospective buyers, ie the drag race (traffic lights, slip roads and dropping that twunt behind me in the fast lane).

If you spend your time on the road, the Merc's the choice.

Funny you say this but acceleration lanes are great for testing out power legally.

And lots of power makes for safe overtaking.

Thing is, 6.2 litre V8, 450(?) bhp... it's one Mercedes you buy not through logic and with your sensible trousers on but just for the sheer stupidity of it all.

Except, I'd be looking at the CLK 63 AMG... it's got even more power (I understand it doesn't handle as well, but I don't care!).

It really does seem a gem of an engine.
I drove the M Class, 4x4, with a 503 bhp version of the motor and it was stunning.

I didn’t see any bits of drive train littering the road. Car companies are only in the business of producing cars that suit what the public is demanding, some may ridicule Mercedes-Benz of not producing a “drivers car” but have no doubt they will have done lots of produce research into what the target segment of the market is looking for and designed a car accordingly (so what is a ‘drivers car’ if not a car that is designed to meet the drivers needs and desires?).

Um another pointless mercedes. More power than it can handle and looks like it was put together by a rapper. I would rather have a Fita uno.

I've heard people say similar when the M5 V8 was up against the E55. The BMW can corner harder and brake later, but if you do lot of roads miles these things just don't matter as much and the Merc wins over.

Like the merc styling too, not sure about the M3's styling.

Yep, and the C63 seemed an absolute beast on Top Gear. Awesome soundtrack to accompany it's savage, brutal looks!!

Evo Mag reckon the same thing regards the E60 M5 vs. CLS55/63 AMG... Whilst the M5 is just about better as a drivers car, the Merc is a better proposition for those who need to cover miles.

I would still rather have the new M3 or RS4 over this.

the merc might have more power than the rs4 but the rs4 on a twisty road would be easily quicker that the merc because on 4wd. the rs4 has precence aswell but the merc looks like an american sedan.

But in the RS4 if you drive it at 10 tenths, in the twisties, there's a good chance of an insurance claim... you can accelerate like a bugger in the AMG and it's very unlikely you'll crashed or spin the thing.

No denying it's quick - and it's probably seriously entertaining, but it looks strange to me - like a part completed DTM car.

I wouldn't say no if someone handed the keys to me you understand...
