Reading wikipedia reminded me of the official story of the speed 12. It never rang quite true to me; surely they would have put it into production if they'd really got a bunch of pre-orders at the £188,000 price?

But that would surely only be the case if it was a 1.2 Corsa underneath?

Try this site as well http://www.speed12.info/

If you go to news then Red rain at Silverstone, there's a video of the Speed 12 doing 2 laps of Silverstone.

Don't forget to turn the volume up!

I really hope this car gets bought by a true TVR enthusiast/PH'er that actually uses it on track days and shows it off as much as possible. Because the chances are it will go to a rock star or footballer that only shows it off on things like top gear when they have a book or dvd to shift frown

Don't laugh but was this car put up for sale on Ebay a year or 2 back? I remember the listing showing the car on the start line at Silverstone.

At the time I thought it was a weird way to see such a rare car.

Anyone got a link to the EVO review?
I seem to remember it got 12 stars out of 5. Didn't Peter Wheeler drive one on the road and deemed it "too extreme for the road" so canned it?? Saw it at Goodwood a few years back and it was stunningly fast and sounded awesome, they fired it up to drive the course while I was in the supercar paddock.

Please don't believe that Wikipedia entry. It is, largely, complete rubbish. Whoever wrote it has got much of the basic information about both projects wrong.

It's been all those colours already when previously painted for PR shots smile
Yeah, I thought I'd seen one of those in gold, then read that only 1 exists.
Must be the same one. Looks insane.

So what became of the white one driven by Clarkson in one of his late 90's/early 2000s vid? (same vid as the McLaren F1/Skyline R33 drag race and EB110/Diablo shootout).

The ad says one car in Japan, and this one, and that the other three were destroyed.

But wasn't one in a bit of a state posted here a few months back? Someone claimed to know the car and owner?

I was offered this car last year - they were wanting north of £200k for it at the time rolleyes

At the time I asked about, and it seems to have been on the market for ever and a day. I saw it being advertised on a US website not long ago.
