I arived at scene shortly after and re visitted later in the evening on route back to milton keynes, condolences to the family and passenger(who i have heard was not the son but a family friend, i stand corrected however)

The guy must have been doing silly speeds/being a div as there was an impact mark on roundabout, then no landing mark on roundabout, he must have cleared it completely??? Trying to show off maybe after the show??

A little disrespectful to make such unfounded comments, don't you think?

I'm not sure. I've been past it 3 times now and there are no impact marks at all on the roundabout on either side, which as wildbean says, made me conclude on the way to work today that he (hit the kerbing hard?) flew right over the roundabout. There's an arrow sign on the roundabout that is half hanging off which also would indicate he clipped it while airborn as there's no damage to the parts of the sing in the ground.

It's possible something broke on the car so I wouldn't like to comment on how it all began.
What gets me is the lack of evidence around the scene that anything happened at all. No debris, no road damage, no barrier damage. Scary. Like it never happened....

So the impact mark wasn't made by the Transit van that hit it earlier that week when I was on my way back from work?

What a totally unfounded comment. Anything could of happened?

Just been looking through the topic and realised how often I've posted. Think I'm actually a bit shaken by it. Still feeling gutted for a guy that I've only ever seen two or three times through my back windscreen, which is weird.

It always brings it a little too close to home. We may not know exactly what happens, but unexpected things can happen to the nicest people.

RIP

Is this the bit where they have posted up 40mph signs near the M1 junction because of the roadworks and roundabout widening yet most seem to ignore it and carry on at 60+ ?
No, it was at the Newport Pagnell roundabout next to the Land Rover garage, heading out of Milton Keynes.

I was stuck on the roundabout right after it happened. It was an awful crash and i have never seen anything like it.
I was told the guy in the BMW convertable died and his passenger seriously injured. No word on the Peugeot drivers.
It looked like the BMW was T-boned.
RIP.
Was weird. Couldn't work out how on earth you can roll a car on that little bit. Drove past this morning and you'd never know it had happened. So was it the Peugeot that t-boned the BM? And which way was everyone going? All seemed impossible to me. Sent a chill down my spine when we filtered off.

Sounds silly as I didn't know any of them but I was absolutely gutted when I saw the "Fatal Accident" boards.

Seems to be saying that the BMW was coming into Milton Keynes - if that's the case then it flipped right over the barrier into oncoming traffic.

Managed to get a speeding issue in there though.....

When me and the Mrs arrived on the roundabout going towards Olney we were at the back of the Queue with the BM and the Pug at the roundabout infront of us by the turning for the Landrover garage. The BM was on its roof sideways facing the garage and the Pug at 45 degrees across both lanes. I presumed the BM had gone round the roundabout and got punted by the Pug but now you sent that link that could make sense also by the positioning. The amount of Debris and carnage about was shocking and it really shook me and the OH up. It is a shame whatever happned. What shocked me most was the state of the BMW, it looked like the screen and bars failed as it was dead flat on the floor. We are talking headrests on the road...

We were made to turn around and i headed back upto towards J14. Very sad.

So are you a MK man Noble?

No, the Peugeot was travelling the opposite way and got hit by the BMW when it landed on the otherside of the roundabout. The Peugeot had no chance of moving or was in no way involved with the BMW losing control from what i saw.

Thoughts and best wishes to your Daughters boyfriend.

I was on the side the Peugeot was on but having travelled the route since you can see where the BMW hit the roundabout.
The bricks on the edge are battered and the arrow signage is left hanging on one bolt. I dont want to specualte so I wil leave the police to make judgement.

Very sad incident, glad to hear the passenger is getting better and thoughts with Rui's family on the funeral.

It's amazing there haven't been more accidents there, it's such a fast stretch of road.

The logic of some people really does defy me.
If they calculated the average speed for that section of road to include rush hours it would be about 4 mph.

People are great aren't they?

"Onlookers at the scene, some with cameras, meant rescue crews had to use advertising banners from the garage to erect a makeshift screen as they cut the victims from the wreckage."
