Discussion
We had the discussion on the wheels on that auction car in the original post.
Anyway - good buy and you will love it. Probably my most driving memories were with the S2000. For the winter though, you need a wooly sheath for the gear knob ! It is very cold. And mind standing water, I stuffed mine in a straight line on the M4...
And take the lid off the air box for a really good induction roar.
Well done and enjoy the most fun for £'s you will probably ever have.

Did you see the auction thread from a few weeks back:

This 08 S2000 only made £13,700 (provisional admitedly, wonder what they took for it in the end)
That doesn't look right to me - an 08 with those wheels? Aren't they the wheels from the very first generation?http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

supposed to be their halo sports car model.
Still a nice car though, could do with a bit more low down torque. Honda should do a Type-R version with a turbo - now that would be nice.
congrats on the car, I miss mine

Looks like someone has swapped the 17" out for the 16" which looks tiny. If Honda can offer the CTR with 19" then why not the S2000 as it's

Hi,
yesterday i posted a thread about the Boxster etc. I was dead set on buying one. But as scared of its reliabilty. I test drove one and wasn't to my liking.
This morning i bought an S2000 off my mate. 04 Plate, Black with red interior and 32k miles. Looks the dogs danglies...
I think it will do me fine for a bit. A lot of car for 11.5k.
Anyone here have one? Any advice? I gather its a bit twitchy in the wet..
Now i need just need to sell the E320 CDi and the A4...
Well done great choice of car! Keep a good check on the condition of your tyres and their pressures. Oh and try not to Vtec round bends in the wet untill you are used to the cars tail happiness! yesterday i posted a thread about the Boxster etc. I was dead set on buying one. IMVHO opinion, even if the car is mint, you have paid about 1-2k too much. But at least you know the history and how the car has been looked after I guess.

Knowing where the cars been and trusting the seller is worth the premium (if in fact there ever was one) IMO.http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/HOND...

What is it with Pistonheads and peoples clear joy in pissing on the OP's fire.
Great car the S2000 and hope it gives you many happy days motoring.
I think it's always a mistake to announce to the world how much you've paid for something - one man's bargain is another man's rip-off and the only fire-dousing that's taken place here has been about what he paid, not about the car itself. Great car the S2000 and hope it gives you many happy days motoring.
I cut my teeth on www.s2ki.com (UK forum linky - http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=25) which was great fun - loads of like minded people and information. I think we had 100 S2000s on a jaunt around Wales once. Certainly worth a try.

May sound great, but you'll create less heat and generate less power. So is it worth it? Nice car though. can't beat a bit of VTEC action! Small Car said:

I can recall going on a couple of these s2k meets - great fun. Great car too - just wish it had more low-end torque. I got rid of mine as it was simply too tiring on long trips (revving to VTEC just to make swift progress wore me out! ). 14k for a 1 year old S2000 (especially a non-GT model) is believeable if it had mental mileage on it, say 20000. Great cars nevertheless - i tried one yonks ago but couldn't fit in one comfortably with my lanky legs - but would probably choose one over a Boxster because of the reliability issues .. if you really wanted a Porsche then you'll have to pay the price either warranty-wise .. or get a 993 / turbo / anything without 'that' engine {cough}.
