Hmm, just about to fit a set of GSD3's on my focus...
Might wait until the thaw, although my current tyres are bloody close to fully bald!!
GSD3s were terrible on my last car in the snow. I've got Vredestein Ultracs now and they have done a wonderful job so far. The tread pattern is much more open than on the GSD3s and don't seem to clog up the same. Very impressed!Might wait until the thaw, although my current tyres are bloody close to fully bald!!
(As an aside they are great in the summer too, only complaint is they are noisy on some surfaces).
Better than the old V-pattern GSD3s but still not great. I recently replaced the rear GSD3s with Asymetrics on the Monaro (235/40/18). I think the new tread pattern is better because of the continuous groves but still no winter tyre. My 'ro hasn't been moved since Tuesday. My (also RWD :P) mountain bike fairs much better!
ETA: I had Toyo Proxes T1-Ss on my old Puma (similar to GSD3s in design) and it was fine in the snow but then it is a light FWD car.

How many days of snow do we get most years? This year is exceptionally bad. I drove my car with eagle gsds on it last year in the snow, and it was a little hairy. I've replaced the tyres since. With more gsd3s - they're the best tyres for my car in the conditions I normally drive it. I have absolute confidence in the wet in them and the grip they offer in the dry is immense. In the snowy weather, I use my missus' fwd volvo with average run of the mill tyres on it.

+1; wise man.I love the GSD3's on the Porsche. But there's no way on earth I'd be finding out how they handle on a 310 hp RWD car, with no traction control, in the snow. I don't have a death wish, though actually I doubt I'd get off the driveway.
