apologies for the poor quality phone pics, but I saw this awesome beauty
outside of work today - really looked like the perfect vehicle for coping

would love to have this alongside my W124 300CE coupe as a winter hack - imagine turning up at a mercedes dealer in it !

That Merc is awesome!

On a semi-related note I've always wondered why there aren't more petrolhead types that tweak/sticker their cars up for winter - especially the last two years we've had such heavy snow (relatively speaking). We sticker cars up for the weekend for Le Mans - why not a bit of fun turning your car into a rally "replica" for the winter. Bonus points - any stickers on the paintwork are going to save it getting pounded by grit/salt/ice!

Example:

Normal look

November-February look - winter tyres, small wheels, raised suspension, totally unnecessary rally style light pod, what about a Bond Esprit style ski rack?

And perhaps Stratos in Marlboro livery style vinyl graphics...

Why not have a laugh with winter rather than leaving our pride and joy tucked away for almost 1/3rd the year?

Ah, the U500 Black Edition.

From the outside a (nearly) standard Unimog, inside a nice place to be...

Bob is cheap fun as well - currently standing me at around £2k, fully serviced and happy, with a working winch. He's been tidied up a bit since that photo...

Pffft. That's not a Mog. THIS is a real Mog:

U5000. When you absolutely, positively blah blah blah. Accept no substitute.

But, with regard to the OP, this is what you want:

That's an 11 on my awesomous scale,
I don't think I've ever wanted a toy sooo much, well not since the first time I saw the fluffy robot dog thingy in Battlestar Galactica.

I am curious as to how they pass an mot as the wheel arches do not cover the wheels? If you stick big wheels on a Defender you need to put wheel arch extensions on.
