Anyone taxed their car in December using the online service?

I did mine and the OHs online on the 31st so we're driving with the confirmation printouts in the glove boxes. I really don't care if it's not displayed - I used to carry my disc for my motorbike in my wallet - coppers never bothered.

It's still not turned up, so rang today and got them to send a duplicate. They did like to make the point over it now being illegal to drive without it on display after 10th Jan. I'll be ignoring this and seeing what happens until the disc eventually appears.

Yup. It arrived within a couple of days. Seems to be a bit of a lottery though, judging by this thread.

The original disc hasn't turned up yet and I can't believe the Royal Mail has such a backlog that it wouldn't have made it after 3 weeks, I'm not convinced it was ever sent. I wonder if there's a glitch in their printing systems?

Did you call them on the 4th as they requested?

Nope, couldn't do it as I was too busy. I left it until yesterday, so gave it another 2 days for it to arrive, which it didn't. The duplicate one will apparently be here "within 5 working days".

Ordered mine on the 30th and sister did hers on 31st, both arrived in Glasgow on Jan 5th - but then I am still waiting on things posted earlier than that from elsewhere, so guess it's all a bit up in the air at the moment...

Did ours on the 1st (wife had forgotten to mention the reminder had come through and I rarely see the car these days so hadn't thought of it!) the disc arrived Tuesday morning.

My daughter did hers on line on 31/12/10 , arrived yesterday . WA3 postcode

ETA , A Christmas card arrived today too so must be the luck of the draw

No help to you really but i ordered mine on the 30th over the phone and recieved it sometime before the 4th,
I was actually impressed!

but i guess they can be efficient when the get 233 pound every 6 months

I've used it for years and never had a problem before, 3 bikes , two cars (both at £435) and a horse carrier all add up to around £1200 a year for me, so I'm more surprised than anything else.

A tax disc turned up in the post today, however, it may well be the original, as it doesn't have "duplicate" typed on it anywhere. So it only took 3 weeks, 5 days to arrive if it's the original.
