How about a Renault Vel satis, (not sure what reliability is like on these..) different though.

Or on the same mad note, How about an Avantime, different, comfy. Not sure if one can be had for a good price or about the luggage space though.

And someone mentioned a Lexus.
No harm in suggesting this

Saab 9-5 Estate will do the motorway work in comfort, loads of luggage space in our one, ample leg room in the back. Plenty of diesels about in that price bracket too. Clearly doesn't meet the 7 seats criteria though, but loads of them come in silver
Having just checked your profile - I've used your taxis a few times to get out to Parkway when I lived in the South West, usually from (or back to) the industrial estate in Tiverton. Grew up near there too (not actually in Tiverton, of course...!), so, hello as well!

I don't think you could stretch to a Dame Edna 9-5 for that money, but you'd certainly get one of the older 2.2 TiD's. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2363882.htm. Very comfy, safe and spacious cars - estate has excellent load area.

There's a Dame Edna saloon in Luton (can't find the link for a moment) but am highly suspicious because it's 06, 80k for £3999 when everything else is £6.5k or thereabouts.Renault Grand Espace? In budget, diesel, 7 seats, right colour - ok, so it's not a looker, but theyre very spacious and a nice place to travel as a taxi passenger.
