BMW and the E numbers I can cope with, but I get lost when people start refering to Audis with their 8Ls and 8Ps.

Why can't you just say...3 series from the late 90's - the nice looking one, or 5 series with the stupid boot bulge and rubbish looking headlights - I know what you're talking about then.

At least even if you don't know what someone is on about when they refer to an 'e39' you just have to type it into google.

You could say the 3 series from the 80's the boxy one, but then mine is 1992
