I was just thinking that he got very angry about it.
Seriously though, we are paying for these signs that are seldom of any real use, always seem to be used for stating the obvious or being totally irrelevent to that particular stretch of road which is also usually in dire need of resurfacing but hasn't been done due to lack of budget.
And what about when they tell you how many minutes travel it is to the next junction, except you could knock ANOTHER five minutes off that journey time if every fker on the motorway wasn't slowing down to read the bd sign!!
At one time, in the London area, they used to trim the overhanging branches from trees so that they didn't damage double decker buses.
Now they just put up signs saying "Caution, overhanging trees".
This could catch on:
Beware, burglars working in this area. (Save on policing).
Beware, pot holes. (Save on road maintenance. Oh! they already do that!).
Caution, non-working speed cameras ahead.
Danger, Low flying Red Bull cans.

Guess you can't please all the people all the time:

Driving home from work last night around junction 23 on the M6 (between Liverpool and Manchester) all the motorway gantry signs are displaying " Cumbria High Winds ".
As per the title, SO fkING WHAT? I'm nowhere near Cumbria, I'm not going to Cumbria, I doubt most people around me are going to Cumbria. Just WHY?
Whats next " Warning Ice in Antarctica "?
Does somebody sit in the control centre being dared to put complete bks up on the road signs? Nice to see our money being so well spent, better than it being needlessly wasted filling all the potholes and making our roads driveable again!
Drove to Cumbria up the M6 last night. Not particularly windy, no traffic problems, great drive. The signs must have frightened everyone away, so lets keep themAs per the title, SO fkING WHAT? So the sign is there for a very good reason.
