Most Overrated Cars ?

I've never understood why people by these mini-MPV things. Yes, they're slightly taller than your average car, but still only have 5 seats.
Agreed - most of them are pointless.Exception being the Citroen Xsara Picasso which _is_ just a tall Xsara but having 5 full size seats and a ridiculous boot justifies it.

The height is the point - especially if you are constantly putting babies/small kids in and out. It just makes life so much easier. Really easier, in fact,
Indeed. My sister has a Scenic and it has loads of rear legroom as you sit up higher compared to a normal car seat. Also, you can take some or all of the rear seats out making it into a pretty decent van.S3000 said:
I think there are some "Overrated" cars in the market, not really fast or special but most of the folks wants to buy it.. and those cars are selling well on the Market.
Im thinking of Fiat Abarth 500 or BMW X5, the first one isnt fast, the second one is a container on wheels. They are both magnets for uneducated car buyers...
Thoughts ?
Why is the X5 a magnet for uneducated car buyers?Im thinking of Fiat Abarth 500 or BMW X5, the first one isnt fast, the second one is a container on wheels. They are both magnets for uneducated car buyers...

I'm amazed at the hatred of new Mini's...
I've had about 30 cars now and they've included some great (accord type r, 2x 205 GTi's, Corrado, classic mini with 1380 and A048's, 2x mk1 MR2's) to rubbish (Alfa 146, A3 TDi, plus loads of forgettable ones).
I've just bought a 53 plate Cooper S and it's amazing. It's done nearly 100k but drives like a quarter of it, handles really old school and doesn't feel numb like most modern cars and although isn't mindblowing fast, it shows a fair turn of speed whilst still feeling like a quality product.
Ignore the anti marketing guff from when they first came out and you've got a great car (fuel consumption and RFL aside).
Car the underwhelmed me. Any Audi product and my old RS Megane Trophy. The Audi's were money sucking souless rubbish with no imagine whatsoever and the RS Trophy was fast but build from used kinder eggs.

Way too heavy and not really suitable for offroading. Most of the owners are going to shopping with that container.
Way too heavy for what?? You must be really daft if you think anyone designed or buys them with offroading in mind. Have you ever driven an X5?Why there are no cars in your profile, OP?

I assume the previous poster meant stuff like a Vauxhall Meriva, Renault Modus etc though? I mean really, what is the point in these cars?Ignoring the deliberately silly answers, there are some on here that somewhat miss the point:-
- BMW MINI actually a very entertaining car, and only overpriced if you ignore the glacial depreciation on them because they're fashionable. It's not very practical or economical but it looks good and drives well.
- Audi TT Mk1 is a poor driver's car but a very stylish one, so for a poser it's a perfect car - badge, looks and interior quality all-in-one. Mk2 a better drive by all accounts.
I would however say:-
- X6 is a joke. Shouts "more money than sense or taste" and has less practicality than cars half it's size.
- Audi A1 is a 3rd-rate attempt to enter the "funky and fashionable" market that the MINI made it's own 10 years ago.
