my eyes, my eyes....

Peurto Banus (where else?) circa 1985, me a car obsessed 9 year old spotted a stretch white Merceded 1000SEL with gold lettering...thinking that can't be right? Surely not? Well I remembered that car, its stayed with me, somewhere blurred between a dream and reality, in the murky depths of my memory. Did I really see it or was it a 9 year old's fantasy nightmare? Low and behold, it was real, today I saw that same car again....The Glenfrome SEL1000
That in black would be so cool.
If I had the money and it came down to this or a Maybach...no contest.

I think this is the worst. Note handles on roof.

This is just as bad but it took me a while to see it.

My Dad had a pair of those electric Recaros in his Range Rover in 1981 covered in tan velour, I then put them in a 140bhp Beetle I had in 1988!

I had this book as a wee-lad, god knows where it is now and chock full of this kind of stuff.

The best I can remember was the mid engined Golf with the body raised to reveal the engine.

Surely the king of that Era was the Koenig and his wacky Ferraris. 1000bhp Testarossa anyone.

Come on guys,

I actually think that the Arden Jaguars are really cool... Very understated, yet somewhat evil and sporty... Just what One would take out for a hoon on Sunday morning

I have this very book somewhere. Love that Vector W4 on the front cover! I am definitely going to look it out now as this thread has brought back all the childhood memories of gazing at Koenigs. I remember trying to convince my Dad to get his Testarossa done!

But that's the genius - these things manage to be hideous and wonderful at the same time...

Some of the stuff on that site is dreadful, but I LOVE all of it.

Quite a lot of it, like the Lorinser stuff, I'd love to drive today. Epic stuff.

I remember looking in a car magazine in the middle of the 90's and seeing the Koenig Testarossa, which I actually still like today. smile

But I really hanker for one of these. cloud9

The Lister XJ-S is really nice as well, I think there's a Ph'er who owns one, anybody who can point me to his name?

It's one of my favourite books too, still has pride of place on the bookcase in the lounge, much to my wife's puzzlement/ disappointment.

Personal favourites are the SGS Merc S classes, the Treser Largo Audi 200 and the attractive fraulein in the B+B Porsche 928 pictures who caused strange stirrings in my 8 year old loins.

Couldn't agree more. Love the seats in the Arden Jags in particular.
