(having said that, surfex HD is just about the best degreaser i've ever tried, and is great for keeping too!!!!)
I'm tempted just buy enough for a bath full and jump in some days...![rofl](/inc/images/rofl.gif)

New pads, scrub the discs with some fine wire wool and brake cleaner, of if that doesn't work, some 400/800 grit emery cloth.
Tbh, if you can spare the money, I'd just stick new discs on.
edit, looks like a 306? Discs are peanuts from buypartsby for most models if so...
Double edit - gti6 brake setup looking at your other thread, discs are £13.34 + vat each...just swap 'em.
I believe my car is also fitted with one of your PTFE inlet gaskets :P Tbh, if you can spare the money, I'd just stick new discs on.

I'll have a little go with wire wool...
Is there any harm on putting the pads on for now and taking the whole lot off in a few weeks and replacing the discs? (contamination)
(reason I say this is I have a feeling I'll end up taking it all off, trying to make them look pretty, bleed the brakes etc but I should really get the car back for an MOT free retest which only required me to change droplinks.. )

None; even better, buy yourself a micrometer, look up the recommended minimum disc thickness and replace them when they actually need replacing, which won't be in a few weeks. That's doing it properly.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
